Week 68 pics

Week 68

Hola!! This week was amazing!! I am so thankful that the Christmas season is here!! I love Christmas time it makes me soo happy! I especially love the Light the world initiative. We all know that the reason for the season is Christ. ANd I am grateful that we all have the tools on lds.org to be able to do that through service!! It has been amazing to share the video with everyone around us!! You all should go check it out.

I am absolutely loving my new area and my new companion!! We are like best friends already which is great!! She is so fun and easy to get a long with!! Our area also kind of changed this week!! WHich has been crazy! We were serving in a ward with like 100 members but the boundaries got changed and like half of our ward got moved over to another ward in the Denver north mission. SO we have a little bit of a smaller area and we have like 20 to 30 active members now!! It should be an interesting change!! iT WAS DEFINITELY INSPIRED THOUGH, SO WE ARE JUST GOING TO ROLL WITH IT. This week we also picked up a tree that my mom ordered for me and decorated it and set it up!! THANK YOU MOM!!! Our house is definitely decked out in Christmas!!

We also taught a lot of people this week!! Our most progressing investigators right now are the Gurrolas!! They are so cute!! They are a 70 year old couple from Durango Mexico. And they are just so humble and ready to accept the gospel in their lives. They always talk about Faith and Repentance and that change that they want to make in their lives!! He is also the one who is in a wheelchair, because he was paralyzed in a work accident. So we have really been trying to figure out how to get them to church so that he can use a ramp!! And so we took the bus to church with them this week hahah!! It was awesome and quite the adventure!! I am proud to say that we didn't get lost once!! Sorry there isn't much to report on this week!!

But this next week we have our Christmas themed Zone Conference and I was assigned to give a talk, I am super nervous so wish me luck!! And we have exchanges with the Green Mountain sisters, and another temple trip!! So I will send lots of updates!! I love you all so much!! Thank you for your examples and your love!!

Remember the reason for the season
Love, Hermana Tams

Week 67 pics

Week 67

Hola!!! Well I got some crazy transfer news this week!! I found out that I was leaving Columbine and Chatfield to come to the Denver 1st ward. It is an all Spanish speaking ward and our area is huge!!! My new companion is Hermana Farroñay Chavez. She is originally from Lima Peru, but she moved to California when she was 5 and then West Jordan, Utah when she was 12! She has 6 weeks in the mission, so I have the awesome opportunity to follow up train her, but really she is training me. She is a sweet heart!! It is crazy being in the city! There is every single store you can ever imagine!! But the traffic and driving in the city is terrifying and I am the designated driver hahaha!! So everyone needs to pray extra hard for me!! Well this week was great!! It was an amazing Thanksgiving!! We ate with the Jones Family, and their family is HUGE!! They had like 40 people, it definitely looked like our family parties at home. And then we ate desert with the Wheelers! I am truly so grateful for Thanksgiving, and for the amazing people I have met here, and All of you at home!!!
This week was also great as I said bye to everyone in Columbine and Chatfield!! We had dinner with the Nitzel family before I left and I got to say good bye to all of them!! i LOVE their sweet family and I am so excited for them and the next steps they get to take as a family! We also had our last lesson with Ryan and she said that she still felt prepared and she prayed about a baptismal date and chose December 23rd!! And We got to see the Brumbles and give them a baptismal date for January 13th! I love the sweet, amazing people there!! and most of all I will miss Sister McLing she is such a sweetheart and she always knows how to make me laugh! I am so glad that she gets to stay in the area and keep me updated!! hahah!
It has been amazing meeting the people in this area! My favorite people that I have had the opportunity to meet so far are the Gurrolas!! They are a sweet old couple from Juarez! And Antonio Gurrola recently experienced a tragedy he was at work and an accident happened and he fractured his spine, and is now in a wheel chair. He never used to be religious before his accident but He is truly humble and is searching for God! They both accepted a baptismal date and came to church!! I am super excited to be serving here!! I know it is going to be a huge change!! But it has been amazing so far!! I am grateful that Heavenly Father is mindful of where we need to be and who we need to be with!! I love you all and I hope that YOU ARE ENJOYING THE HOLIDAYS! MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE lIGHT THE wORLD INITIATIVE AND to reach out in love and do service this Christmas! Les Quiero!!

Week 66

HOLA HERMOSOS!!! I hope everyone had an amazing week! This week seems kind of surreal, I cant decide if it actually happened hahah! But it was a great week. Sister McLing gave her very first training in district meeting, hahah I was so proud that I took pictures. We also had two baptisms this weekend and it was amazing. It has been such a blessing to even have a small part in seeing Eric Nitzel and Izzy Hanks conversion. A member came up to us at church yesterday and said, that was such a spiritual experience, and that she was so jealous that we get to do that all the time. I really have to agree with her, i cannot believe that we have the amazing blessing of helping others along in their conversion. I have said it before and I will say it again, I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!

"The most wonderful sound I've ever heard is the sound of water running in the church as someone I'd come to love got dressed in white my eyes saw their first glimpse of Heaven's light." I one hundred percent have to agree with the Nashville tribute song. I love these amazing people and I am grateful that they have seen Heavens light. As I was at the baptisms Eric Nitzel said something that really stuck with me, He testified of how he has come to see that the gospel is all about love, peace, hope and families. He said that at the beginning of his experience 2 years ago he wasn't really expecting to gain anything from the lessons, and he wasn't ever really looking for anything. And then he talked about the blessings of what he has found. The gospel really is so simple and Eric's testimony helped me to realize that. sometimes I think that we make the gospel too complex and it does make it hard to apply. But I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ and his Atonement helps us and enables us too look up. It allows us to look past the world and to focus on the Celestial Kingdom. I know that is the real goal.
This week we also had the opportunity to watch the Face 2 face BROADCAST WITH Elder Oaks and Elder Ballard. And we invited our investigator Ryan to watch it, and she texted us after wards and said That she watched it and was struck with an intense feeling of readiness! She is so spiritually in tune and is soo sweet, you can tell that she has truly been striving to find her answer, and it has finally come. The Brumbles were also at church again, and it is just amazing seeing Heavenly Fathers hand in the mission. He truly is preparing people!
We also will receive transfer news tomorrow, which is crazy, time just doesn't seem to want to slow down! I will let you all know what will be happening, I honestly don't have any inclinations, EVER!! hahah and if I do I am always wrong, so we will just leave that up to the Lord!! I love you all and I hope that you can reach out and show your love to others during the holidays
FELIZ DIA DE TURKEY!!!🦃🦃

Week 65

Well this week was amazing and as you can tell from my caption, I am never leaving!! hahah!! I just absolutely love the people here. I swear each area that I leave I am so sad and I think I wont love my next area that much, but I have LOVED every single area it is CRAZY!! This week was a great week, not much happened though!! We had the Missionary Leadership Council in Vail and it was so fun to go back and to see all of the snow on the mountains. I love hearing trainings from President and Sister Gifford they are truly inspired. This week was great, we saw a lot of progress with our investigators. The Brumbles came to church again and they are really committed to the goal of getting there kids baptized and getting back to the temple!!  We are so excited, we are going to give them a baptisimal date this week. Ryan Blackburn also went to a baptism this week and church, and she is reading the book of Mormon, she is so cute she even keeps a journal of questions and favorite scriptures. Also Izzy and Eric are both on track for their baptisms this weekend! It has been a great week to see them So excited for their baptisms. And it has been crazy to see how the adversary will hit and try to make it not happen. This week Eric got asked to work the day of his baptism on a Saturday for the first time in 7 years. But luckily he got out of it. I know and have a testimony that baptism is the gate that opens up the celestial kingdom and it is an amazing covenant. I know that it is so important, and that is why the adversary attacks so hard. It is a good thing that we are always stronger than him if we follow Jesus Christ. This week has been amazing, and i am sorry that I don't have much time to tell you more about it!! But I just hope you all know how much heavenly Father loves us and how happy he is when we follow him and his plan!! Our ward mission leader in Chatfield also unexpectedly lost his mom this week. And it was so amazing to go to the funeral and see how the gospel blesses families. It was sad but there was so much hope and happiness because of the Plan of Salvation! I am grateful that we can have no empty chairs!! I love you all and I love this gospel i know that it is true, and it is such a blessing to go out and declare it each and every day!! Have a great week and a Happy Thanksgiving!! 🦃🦃

Week 64

Hola MIS AMIGOS!!! Como estan??? I hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween!! We sure did over here!! We had an awesome Halloween themed Dinner with the Beals and then we came back home at 6 and read the Book of Mormon for 3 hours!! IT WAS A DREAM!!

This week we also got to go on exchanges again!! This time we went with the Ken Caryl and Coal mine sisters. So SIster Pelo (my last greenie) came here for the day and it was a blast!! BUT IT WAS SOO WIERD!! hahah We had Deja Vu the whole day! It just felt like we took a time machine back to the past! That was my first time going on exchanges with an old companion, and it was a blast!

I also got a really nasty cold this week, and I heard that my little sister Molly at home had a cold as well, so we were twins this week!! It was pretty fun! Hahah, it was pretty funny, the day that I got it I gave a training in District Meeting, and everyone in the district could not really hear my training. Also Sister McLing I found out is kind of a Momma bear!! She made sure I got medicine and lots of water, so I am sure you are glad to hear that mom!!
We also had the opportunity to have a Mini MTC in the Highlands ranch stake. It was super fun, a bunch of high school girls ages 16-18 came for a day to learn how to be a missionary. And we got to go out door knocking with them. It was pretty eventful, one of the girls I was with got bit by a dog and we got a book from some guy who was RLDS, and we got 3 return appointments. Hahah, overall it was a blast!! And the whole day i was reminded of my cute little sisters so that made me happy! I hope and pray that everyone who is still missionary age, is praying to know if they need to serve, it is the BEST decision you could ever make!! *COUGH COUGH*** (Grace Tams) hahah!!

We also taught amazing lessons this week and saw a lot of the amazing people here at church!! We saw the Brumbles again!!! I was so happy to see them sitting together!! ANd we saw Ryan and Izzy hanks and it was amazing!! I LOVE THESE PEOPLE and these wards!! It is honestly a great place to be!! I love going out every day and declaring the Gospel and the Restoration. We are soo blessed by our knowledge!! I know that the church is true and I know that God answers our prayers and loves us all individually! I wanted to share something that I read this week in the Bible Dictionary this week under conversion it says.... "To labor for the conversion of ones self and others is a noble task." I am so grateful for this opportunity I have to LABOR for the conversion of myself and these amazing people!! It has been the Noblest task!! I know that we are all missionaries and we have that divine blessing of sharing our knowledge with those that we love!! I also wanted to leave you all with this quote my dad sent me from the book "the power of everyday missionaries" and the invitation to do something to take part of this noble task that we all have!!! “I love my life as a missionary, keeping myself on the front lines. The image in my mind is that God, my general, stands at the door when I go out every morning; and, knowing what the war is like, day after day he gives me his most powerful weapon: his Spirit. For this I am grateful.”

I Love you all so much!! I hope that you have an amazing week!!

Week 63 pics

Week 63

This week has been amazing!! AGAIN!! Every week gets better and better! I still cannot believe that I get to have this amazing experience and be a missionary!! I LOVE THIS CALLING, I love my purpose! Their is no greater purpose than opening up the doors to the  kingdom of God for others! We have seen so many miracles this week! And it has been a busy week! We had exchanges this week with the sisters in Front range and Platt River and I was in my area with Sister Abbott, She came out with Sister Pelo (my last companion)! And she is adorable! SHe is an awesome missionary and she is a hard worker, it was great to exchange! i love exchanges because I always learn soo much!! Then this week we also had both of our Halloween Parties in both wards!! It was great!! We had over 20 non members there!! It was amazing to see the members doing missionary work and getting involved! We also had the opportunity to go to Jays baptism. She is the investigator of Sister Pelo and Sister Hooper, an d it was a powerful baptism. We had Eric nitzle there, and his family was really moved!! It is so cool to see how the gospel brings families together and makes them complete and whole! That is exactly what has happened with Eric!! It has been a long, slow conversion and he is finally to the point where he is just ready to change and be baptized!!

The biggest miracles came this Sunday!! We had a lot of our investigators at church and it was amazing!! I will tell you a little about the amazing people that we are teaching!!

Ryan: Ryan is a cute 18 year old, and is a referral that we got from the Duffys (members in the columbine ward) and she is amazing!  And she has gone to church before with the Duffys and she says that it is just magical!  her draw to the church, is that families can be together forever!  And she came to church this Sunday!

Sharon Bergsma: I already told you a little about her but she has 2 kids who are members and her late husband was an inactive member. And she really just is so sensitive to the spirit! She has had a lot of tears as she has been touched at church! And she was there this Sunday as well!

Izzy Hanks: Izzy is a cute little 9 year old, and her mom is wanting to come back to church and she wants to be baptized, and I absolutely love her! She is so sweet and has a sincere desire to follow jesus Christ.  And it was her and her moms first time back to church this Sunday!

Eric Nitzle: Eric is a non member and his wife and daughter are members. He has been taking discussions for 2 years and little by little he has gained a testimony! He is in Ether in the Book of Mormon, and he has come to church for 6 months and he has a calling in the ward! And our first lesson, we got to invite him to be baptized and he said yes! his date is for November 18th as well. And his family is so cute and is about to be complete!!

The Brumble family: The brumbles are awesome. The mom and the dad are less active endowed members. and they have 5 kids. They are less active because there only day off is Sunday and they use it to catch up on everything. And 3 of their kids are unbaptized. And this week at church the whole family came to sacrament! IT WAS THEIR FIRST TIME IN 2 YEARS!! It was amazing to see a family in the sacrament pew working towards an eternal family and working towards no empty chairs!

My favorite part of the work is seeing families become united and whole because of the Gospel! THE CHURCH IS TRUE!!! I know with all of my heart that it is all true. I am so grateful for these amazing people and I LOVE them!!  Honestly I know that as missionaries our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ. But in the process these amazing people have invited me to come unto Christ!! I have come closer by seeing them come closer! I am grateful that our Heavenly Father loves us and that he wants us to change! I know that, that is why we have to Atonement and that is why he sent his son! And I know that change can be hard and it wont happen overnight. But we need to slowly and steadily live the Gospel and he will change us!! I testify that he loves us and I testify that the Atonement is real!! I love all of you and I hope that you know that change is possible! When Elder Holland came he said "come as you are, but don't plan to stay as you are."  HAVE A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Week 62

Hola mi familia y mis amigos!!!! This week was so busy!! It was awesome! We had our mission Tour, and then we had  the missionary leadership Council meeting, and then we had Train the Trainers, and Stake Conference!! It has been a crazy and inspirational weeek!! One of the talks that hit me really hard was Sister Giffords at the Mission Tour. She said that "Zion is mentioned in the scriptures 1462 times, And Let Zion in her beauty rise (our mission song) isn't talking about a place but a state of being. One definition of Zion is the pure in heart. And she talked about how Faith and patience work together to help us to be pure in heart! She especially talked about the 3rd verse to our mission song, which says.....
3. That glorious rest will then commence
Which prophets did foretell,
When Saints will reign with Christ on earth,
And in his presence dwell
A thousand years, oh, glorious day!
Dear Lord, prepare my heart
To stand with thee on Zion’s mount
And nevermore to part.
I loved when she highlighted the line that says Dear Lord prepare my heart!! My prayer is that my mission truly will continue to jump start that process of preparing my heart!! I know that that preparation doesn't happen all at once, but it is step by step, and day by day, that the lord makes our hearts pure. I have seen so many miracles with our investigators and seeing their hearts change and become pure. And i know that I am Heavenly Fathers investigator, and i pray that I am truly changing and becoming who he wants me to be.
A good example of the lord preparing someones heart is our investigator Eric. He has taken the lessons with missionaries for 2 years, and it started little by little at the beginning he wouldn't even sit down for the lessons when the missionaries came. And now he has been oming to church for 6 months straight and he is in Helaman in the Book of mormon, and he even has a Calling! And this week on Tuesday we extended a baptisimal date and the spirit was so strong!! And he said yes, I know that that spirit was so strong because his heart had been prepared! And he is now going to be baptized and his cute family is going to be made complete!! IT WAS A SUPER EXCITING WEEK!! And then him and Our investigator Sharon came to Stake Conference!! Which was amazing, it was all about missionary work!! Also this week I hit my one month in the mission and that means I have 17 more months to go!! And my trainer hit 14 months!! She is getting OLD!!! Its crazy hahah!!! Well this week was great and we saw lots of miracles!!! I want to end with a scripture!!! Its.......
1 Chronicles 28:20 “Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou has finished all the work…”

I know that if we just open up our mouths and declare the gospel and DO IT!! That God will be with us until the work is done!! I love you all and I pray that you have an amazing week!! And I hope that you ponder your conversion, and that you make goals so that the lord can continue to prepare us all and make us pure in heart!!

Week 61

Hola Hermosos!! Como estan??
This week has been amazing!!! We have seen so many miracles! We started out this week by going to talk to Sharon Bergsma Monday night! She is SIster Runyons mom in the ward and she is amazing. It was me and Sister Pelos last day together, and we went over to invite her to take the missionary lessons. And she was just in tears saying that she has felt the spirit really strong these last few weeks at church and when we taught her the Plan of Salvation. And she just poured out her heart to us about her past, and it was so evident that God has been preparing her, her whole life to accept the gospel! She said yes to taking the discussions and we are seeing her this Thursday! Then Tuesday morning we went to transfer meeting and met my new companion. Her name is Sister McLing and she is from Idaho Falls. She is so awesome! She is 20 years old and wasn't planning on serving at first, but she got the answer that she needed to come! And I said goodbye to my blessed trainer Hermana Cardosa! I am going to miss her a lot, and i am so thankful for everything that she taught me! Then Our first day we got here we had an appointment with Isabella Hanks, she is in the Chatfield Ward and she is a cute little 9 year old who wants to be baptized. Her Mom is a member who is wanting to come back and reactivate herself. So my companions first day in the mission field she put her on Date!! We are super excited to work with her. We also met with our Ward mission leader in Chatfield and he has some amazing ideas. They are doing the desert initiative in our ward. Which is where the members of the ward simply invite a non member neighbor to their house for desert so that they make friends and so that friend can feel the spirit in their home. Then their are three invitations that they can do from there. The first is the "Star invitation" Which is where you invite that friend to desert or a BBQ or a casual event. The second is the "Moon invitation" Which is when you then invite them to Dinner with the missionaries or to a ward party or a service project. And the third is the "Sun invitation" which is when you invite them to church or to read the Book of Mormon or to take the lessons with the missionaries! I am so excited about the member missionary work that is happening in the Chatfield ward! It is amazing to see people, who have a sincere desire to share the gospel with their friends, because they love the gospel and they love their friends. I know that Missionary work can seem hard and scary at times, but i know that missionary work really is the greatest manifestation of LOVE!! I know that when we share the gospel we are sharing heavenly fathers love, and I know that Missionary Work brings a fullness of Joy! So I want to invite all of you to apply the desert initiative, and invite a nonmember or a less active or someone that needs love into your house for desert, and then EMAIL ME!! And tell me about the miracles!!! PLEASE!!!

Also this week we taught seminary!! And we talked about the power of the Book of Mormon!  I finished the Book of Mormon for the 4th time this week, and I love it! I honestly cannot describe how much the book of Mormon has helped me come closer to my savior. It has helped me to understand who my Savior is and how I can have a relationship with him. I am so thankful for the opportunity to study the book of Mormon and to get inspiration from day to day. I know that the Book of Mormon can answer any question! This week we also went to 8 hours of church! Which was great hahah, we did decide though that we definitely need church snacks hahah! And at Church we met Eric Nitzle from the Chatfield ward. He is a nonmember and his wife is a member, and he has been going to church for the last 6 months, and he is awesome!! During Gospel Principles he basically just bore his testimony about his conversion to the gospel, and he told a member friend that the next time the missionaries extend a date he is going to say yes!! So we are going to see him this week and put him on date, so that his cute family can be a forever family! Which honestly I think it is the best job in the world to help families be eternal!! It has been an awesome week, and each week just keeps on getting better! I hope you all know how much I love you!!! And I hope you all take my challenge and INVITE someone to come unto Christ!! LES AMO!!

Love, Hermana Tamales! 💙💛💜❤💥

Week 60 pics

Week 60

Well everyone, it has been quite the week!! I will start by explaining my title so that i don't sound crazy!! hahah, When I asked Sister pelo what my title should be she said Greenies come and Greenies go and Hermana Cardosa my trainer said that I had to add and Grandmas die!! The reason being because we got transfer news and we found out that Sister Pelo is going to be transferred to Coal mine and Ken Karyl. We were a little bummed because we wanted to stay together, but the blessing is that we will still see each other every week at district meeting and we will get to go on exchanges. And then we found out that I am going to get a new companion from the MTC (hence greenies come and greenies go). So it should be interesting. We also got news that Columbine is taking over the Chatfield ward, so Pray for me because I am pink washing again... hahah! And then My trainer is staying with us for the day until tomorrow because she is going back home and dying from the mission (hence grandmas die)... hahah!! It is pretty interesting having our posterity all together!! So transfer news was definitely unexpected but i am excited to learn more and to train again and get back to the basics!! IT IS SO GOOD FOR ME!!! Trust me I need the basics hahah!

Well besides transfer news this week was great but It was just a regular week of missionary work! We taught a great lesson with our investigator Jerry, and he finally read in the Book of Mormon and is starting to progress! So that was definitely a miracle, and it was fun because Sister Gifford came with us as a member present and taught with us! We also did some great service! We were doing service at this place called Willowbrook, and there were these two old ladies that got in a fight hahah! One stood up and the other one told her to sit down, and then this little old lady throws a pillow at the other one, and then she said "who do you think you are?" hahha! So that was quite eventful! We also had 2 investigators at church which was amazing! They are both named Sharon, and one is this sweet little catholic lady who we are working with! She has read the whole Book of Mormon and prayed and says that she knows that it is true! And the second was Sister Runyon a member in our wards mom! She walked out of the Gospel Principles class crying and Sister Runyon told us that it was because she had felt the spirit so strong! It is soo cool to see how Heavenly Father is truly preparing these people to prepare the gospel! I am so blessed to be working with them!!

Well that is all that really happened this week, sorry that it wasn't that eventful! But we do have the mission tour coming up, and I will tell you about my new companion next week! I love you all! And I hope you know how much I love my mission, and How much a mission changes you and helps you to change, and truly experience a fullness of joy! PLEASE IF YOU CAN STILL GO< Pray about it and go!!! I love you all!! And I hope that you have an amazing week!
❄⛄ALSO it is snowing today, and I LOVE IT!!!!

Week 59 pics

Week 59

I LOVE GENERAL CONFERENCE! I pray that you all had the opportunity to watch General Conference, It is absolutely amazing to me that we have A prophet and apostles on the earth today!! I hope we can truly take the advice of Elder Neil L. Anderson and that we can take the time to read the conference messages and study them. I know that it is so true that in that Conference we heard the voice of the Lord, and that there is a treasure chest of Heavenly discovery awaiting us from Conference!! I am so thankful that Conference speaks to each one of us differently! My favorite talk this conference was Elder Hollands amazing talk!! My favorite part is when he said, "Beating up on ourselves will not make us the person God wants us to be. We live in a fallen world. we are fallen people. Here in mortality perfection is Pending. The Gospel is for the perfecting of Saints. Our only hope in pure perfection is in receiving it as a gift from heaven, we wont earn it!" I know that it is soo hard in the Gospel to recognize that perfection is impossible. I have been a missionary for a year now, and I am still so far from perfect! IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE PERFECT! I am so thankful that we have the Atonement of Jesus Christ so that we can work each day to be perfected. I know that we will never be perfect people, but we shouldn't beat up on ourselves, we should use the Atonement and work to overcome the natural man.
I truly know that the prophet and his apostles speak for the Lord!! I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and I am so thankful for the challenge we have to read it everyday! This week I will finish the Book of Mormon for the 5th time on my mission! I cannot testify enough of the power of the Book of Mormon. I know it is the word of God, and I encourage you all to continue to take President Monsons challenge! Not many things happened this week, we had exchanges and Sister Hooper came to our area with me, she is a sweetheart and a hard worker! And we also did a spa night last night!!Also, This week was also a week full of miracles! Monday night we had the opportunity to teach the Runyon Family the plan of Salvation. And Sister Runyons mom Shannon was there! She is a nonmember who moved into the ward, and when Sister Runyon her daughter testified of the power of the Plan of Salvation and Shannon was in tears. Then the next day Sister Runyon texted us and said that her mom told her last night that when we were teaching her that she had a vision of me and Sister Pelo baptizing her. And then for the Sunday Morning session we watched Conference at the Runyons and Shannon watched it with us!!! I know that Heavenly Father puts us in a specific place for a specific reason! One of my favorite scriptures is Doctrine and Covenants 100:4-6
Therefore, I, the Lord, have suffered you to come unto this place; for thus it was expedient in me for the salvation of souls.
Therefore, verily I say unto you, lift up your voices unto this people; speak the thoughts that I shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be confounded before men;  For it shall be given you in the very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say.
I know that it was expedient in the lord that I am here in Columbine,, and I know that I am fulfilling my purpose in inviting others to come unto Christ. And it truly is a FULLNESS of Joy! I have never been happier, every time I testify and can share the unique message of the restoration to the world, my Joy truly grows more full! I LOVE THE GOSPEL!! I love the opportunity that I have to serve and to give this small amount of time to the lord! Les quiero!! I decided that I am going to try and switch Sister Pelo spots and have her be Hermana Tams and I am going to dye my hair dark and stay for a year and a half more, so see you then!!!
Love, Hermana Tams☔🌸

Week 58 pics

Week 58

HOLA HERMOSOS!!! COMO ESTAN???? My week was absolutely "Wicked". Sister Pelo is teaching me all sorts of London words!! Wicked being one of them, and also Posh, and Dodgy, and Cheers. We have an agreement that by the end of training, she will be fluent in Spanish and I will have a perfected British accent. Sadly i think that she will become fluent in Spanish, it is a lot more likely than me perfecting my accent! hahah, she keeps on laughing at me because no matter what language I speak I always try and speak Spanish! Its okay, it always makes things interesting!! This was an amazing week, mostly because we had a great week of work and serving others!!
I know that I truly am called to SERVE, And I am so thankful that we were able to help others this week. We had an amazing opportunity to help a lady named Sharron move. She is a nonmember that called the Lakewood elders and needed help to move, and she was moving into our area. So on Saturday we set up with the Elders Quorum and High Priests to come help her unload this U haul. The funny thing was that Sharron had to change the time, because they weren't going to be there until 1 and they were behind schedule. So we texted the Bishop to let the ward know that the time had changed, but what we didn't know is that he didn't have cell reception. So we showed up at 1 and realized that it was just us.... And so we started moving boxes while calling ward members, and we were so afraid that we would have to unload this Huge U haul by ourselves until like 8 pm. ajajajaja! But luckily, Heavenly Father was looking out for us and we got some reinforcements. But it was an amazing experience I am completely convinced that one of the best sights, is a group of members showing Christ like love to a complete stranger!! IT WAS AMAZING! And this cute lady was so completely thankful and amazed! We invited her to church and we are going to start teaching her!! One of my favorite quotes is that "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care!"

Then on Saturday as well there was the Woman's Broadcast, and before the Relief Society as a stake did a service project for girls in Haiti! It was so amazing to help and see all of the members coming together, we also had a nonmember there and it was amazing that she could be a part of it all! Me and my companion truly love this area, and the members and nonmembers here! Everyone we have met is so amazing!! And i absolutely loved the General Woman's Broadcast, I loved the contrast of the 3 sisters who were Sad, Mad and Glad! I love the quote that the happiest people don't have the best of everything but they make the best of everything!! Life is what we make it, and a mission is what we make it! I loved all of the amazing talks on self worth and Divine nature. I truly do know that we are all daughters and sons of God, and that he loves us, we are always of worth to him! But our mortal responsibility is to strive to be WORTHY! It is a constant battle to put off the natural man, but i am so thankful for the Atonement and for the opportunity to recognize that In the Saviors eyes I had worth when he suffered for me in the Garden of Gethsemane, and now my job and all of our jobs, is to use that Atonement to become Worthy! I love this Gospel, I love my savior, and I am so thankful for the infinite love that Our Heavenly Father and Our Savior have for each one of us!
I love you all so much, and i am thankful for your prayers and your examples and your love, PLEASE Prepare for Zone Conference, it is going to be absolutely amazing! And I know that when we are ready to learn the spirit will tell us exactly what we need to hear! So I want to invite all of you to prayerfully think about and write down three questions that you need answered this General Conference, i promise that If you are ready the answers will come! I am having a blast, and all is well in ZIon!! LES QUIERO Con todo mi corazon!!
CON AMOR, Hermana Tamales!!☔󾓩

Week 57 pics

Week 57

HOWDY!!! This week has been amazing!!! We have seen so many miracles it is insane!!! I love being a missionary, and I know that I say that every single week and everyone is probably sick of it, BUT ITS TRUE!! This week was great, at the beginning of the week we had exchanges. And I got to work with Sister Brown, she is from West Jordan Utah, and she is adorable. We saw so many miracles during exchanges, and we found a new investigator, and we worked our little tails off! HAHA, Then on Wednesday we had Zone Conference! it was amazing!! We all had to get flu shots at the beginning though hahah! Sister Gifford was laughing so hard because me and my companion were the biggest babies, she held my hand though and distracted me haahh!  I didn't pass out though so all is well. Then we had Zone Conference and we focused on The Plan of Salvation and Finding and following the spirit! It was amazing! My training was on finding and it went off without a hitch!! I was still super scared but not as much as last time! While I was studying for my training I really loved the scripture in D and C 36:6 "Look unto me in every though doubt not fear not."
I LOVE THIS SCRIPTURE!! I know that the opposite of Faith is Doubt and fear! But when we Look unto HIM in every thought there is no need to fear, because perfect love casteth out all fear! So sometimes I am not going to lie missionary work is scary as we all know! But Jesus Christ turns that fear into Faith! Also this week we had amazing miracles! We got a return Lesson with Amy (the one that we prayed to find her chihuahua and did) And it was amazing! She said that right before we had knocked her door that she had opened up and read the Bible for the first time in a long time! We told her that wasn't a coincidence and we testified of the Atonement, she has truly had so many trials and she is so humble and ready to accept the gospel!! Then this week we had an appointment with Abby ( the one that we had found when we fasted to find a family of 4 and found her family of 6) but her and her family all got a bug, so they had to cancel! So we dropped off soup and invited her to the Primary program at our church this Last Sunday! And her and Sharron Young our other investigator both came! She was grinning from ear to ear!! It was so amazing to see the testimonies that the little children of our church have! THEIR TESTIMONIES ARE POWERFUL!
We also had an amazing week of miracles with people just coming out of the woodwork!! We are so excited about this area!! And we both know that we are here for a reason. Even though it is hard to be in an English area, i know that Heavenly Father is aware of me and he is using me as an instrument in his hands, because we found 2 less active families that speak Spanish, and we picked up a whole family of Hispanics this week! I LOVE MIRACLES!! And I know that Heavenly Father is in the details of missionary work, he knows who is ready and he knows where they are and he knows who's time it is to accept the gospel! It has been an amazing week! Mi encanta la obra misional!!! Y estoy agradecida por cada persona que encontramos esta semana! Yo se que si tengo fe, y si estoy obidiente y diligente que milagros van a pasar! LES AMO!!! Gracias por todo!! ANd please get to the temple and get studying so that we can all be prepared for General Conference!!!

CON AMOR, La Hermana Tams!❤
