Week 36

Wow! This week was so great! I have loved this week because I got to go out every day and give it my all and go home every night sooo tired! I LOVE THAT FEELING! I will start with transfer news, since I know everyone is dying to know hahah! So no surprises here, me and Hermana Garcia are staying together in Vail! I am soo excited to work more in this area! I already love the people soo much! Something that really hit me this week is how fast a mission is!!! As Hermana Gutierrez has gotten ready to go home I realize how close I am to going home! I honestly do not want to waste one second of this precious time! Something that I liked that a member was telling sister Gutierrez this week was, he said "There is only one word that is almost the same as life and that is time. Then he said thank you Sister Gutierrez for giving this mission your time and a part of your life". I know that I really have tried to give this mission my all! All my time, and all of this part of my life! and I WANT TO KEEP ON IMPROVING, I WANT TO KEEP ON GROWING, I WANT TO KEEP ON LOVING, AND HELPING OTHERS. There is nothing greater than the opportunity to literally forget yourself and go to work and only focus on helping others. I know that I am not going to be able to do be a missionary full time again! One of my most favorite experiences this week was when we were walking out of our apartment to do service and we found this teenage girl crying on the stairs. She had her notebook doing math and on her notebook it said please help me! I was immediately brought to a stop to talk to her, and we all asked her if we could help. We found out that this girl was really going through a lot, and she was struggling with not wanting to live. My heart really heart when she told us this, and she was so young! My FAVORITE thing about a mission that I will love forever, is that as missionaries we get to meet people we have never met, who we have never seen, and we can automatically feel the saviors love for them! I know that that is what a mission is all about! It is not about numbers, it is not about baptisms, it is not about leadership positions, and is not even about bringing new members to the church. A mission is about LOVE, A mission is about helping others come unto Christ and be perfected in him through repentance, baptism, the holy ghost and enduring to the end. So that these people that we meet everyday can have the love of Jesus Christ forever. So that one day when they go to the celestial kingdom they can Abide in his love forever! I can not imagine a greater purpose, And that is the purpose that I get to have each and every day of this mission! A lot of great fun things happened this week, that made me realize how very lucky I am! I love these people in Colorado! I LOVE THIS GOSPEL I love my SAVIOR!

Some other updates that happened this week, are that we had Sandra and Ruben our investigators come to church, and they got to see Josues Confirmation which was so special. And my companions had some technical difficulties in the apartment hahah! Hermana Garcia put Dawn dish soap in the dishwasher! And Hermana Gutierrez took a giant lime and put it down the disposal! "Because it made it smell good!" hahahah. The maintenance workers looked at us like we were soo dumb! Oh the joys of being missionaries, who have no idea how to live on their own! That is about it for this week! Nothing too crazy. I just worked the hardest I have ever worked in my mission this week and it felt soo good! I can feel my testimony growing each time I testify! I absolutely love this work! Thank you for everything that you all do for me! I love you all so much!!!!!

Also, the next person to ask me about my half way mark is in serious trouble haahha! wE DONT TALK ABOUT IT, i STILL HAVE 18 MONTHS! 😉
Have an amazing week Les Quiero mucho!

Love, Hermana Tams

Week 35

Hola familia! This week was great!!! I loved EASTER!!! And I am so thankful for the reminder of Jesus Christs Resurrection and that he lives! This week I also hit my 8 months which is absolutely insane! I need time to stand still for a while hahah! There is too much amazing work to do and not enough time! This week as I have been thinking about Easter and about Jesus Christ I have thought a lot about Charity! I have always loved the quote, those who love him the most will be the most like him! This week I have really thought about what the reason is that we truly do go on a mission. And I think that quote pretty much sums it up. I know that this mission is teaching me to be more like him, and to experience a little bit of what he experienced! I heard some really great talks this week about Easter and the Savior. One story that I really loved the Bishop Webb shared in Sacrament was, "There was this man who worked on the Bible videos for the church, and he had 2 young boys. And one day he decided that he wanted to take them to work with him so that they could see what he does, so he took them to the set. And on this day they were shooting the part where the savior is carrying the cross and the crowds are mocking him, and he said that the two little boys stopped them right in the middle of shooting and ran up to hug the Savior. And they said to the crowds don't hurt him he is our friend." I love that story! Bishop then said do we know the Savior, enough to call him our friend? I really do want that to be my goal! When I get back from my mission I want to be changed and I want to be more like him! I want to be able to call the Savior my friend, because of all that we have been through on this mission! I know that the Saviors love is truly unconditional, but I know that we also need to follow him and his example in order to Abide in his love forever. I want to be able to abide in his love forever! I know that this mission is how i am going to do that, because each day i get to wake up and represent him, I get to wear his name and follow in his footsteps. I have seen so many great miracles this week, and felt the spirit so strong and I know that it is because of him! I can see him in the eyes of my investigators who are changing so much! This week I saw it at Josue's Baptism! And I saw it in Blanca and her family as they watched the baptism! They have such a desire to follow him. Beth asked after the baptism if on her baptism she could wear a shower cap to keep her hair dry hahah! And Gael said that he thinks that he is ready! I also saw Jesus Christ as the lees came to church for the first time and heard the teachings of Jesus Christ! I am SO THANKFUL for my savior this Easter! I love you all so much and I hope that you enjoyed your Easter and that you could feel your saviors love as well! I know that He lives with all of my heart! I know that he is the prince of peace and that through him is our only way to eternal peace and happiness! I love you all have a great week and remember who loves you!

Week 34 pics

Week34

Hola!!!!! This week was amazing! Some fun things that happened this week were
1. We got free tamales! haah this guy with a white bucket was going around selling tamales and he gave them to us for free!!!!!!
2. i did hair for service all week hahah! Normally for service we go to Salvation Army but this week everyone found out that i do hair, So i did mama juanita, mama Quintana, Mama Herrera, and both of my companions hair!!! It was so fun to do hair again! And the members really appreciated it!
3. My companion Hermana Gutierrez found out that she has really bad scoliosis! Which isn't funny it is sad, But what is funny is that she walks around like a hunchback grandma ahahh! She is always cracking jokes about how old she looks!
4. We sang happy birthday and made brownies and everything for Mama Juanita!

This week was amazing! It was really great to get to know the ward more and help them more! We also Taught some really amazing people this week! We taught Blanca and her family this week, I love them so much and they truly are amazing! Blanca reminds me of Monica, my favorite investigator in Eagle! We also started teaching this Jamaican family the Lees! They are so sweet, and it is so fun because in Steamboat we taught Jamaicans and they taught me some Jamaican words. so when I first met them they were so impressed hahah! I can say WOG WON MON? Which means whats up! And I can say WA YA DA PAN. Which means Its all good. and I can say LICKA MORE which means see you later! I think that every one on my mission just hears me speak other languages and their jaws drop because i am such a gringa! hahaha.
My favorite thing that happened this week that was an absolute miracle was on Fast Sunday. i decided to fast for Blanca and her family and for The opportunity to find the ELECT or the person who was prepared to listen that day. Then we showed up to church and we were waiting for Blanca and she wasn't showing up, and i was getting discouraged. But then during the passing of the sacrament i decided to pray and ask god if it was in his will that they would come, and if not that he would show us who was ready or what we should do. Then right after the sacrament this lady named Rebecca came and sat down. We talked to her after and she said that she had prayed about where to go to church the night before and that she had gotten the answer that she needed to go to the Mormon church! We taught her the restoration and she had some amazing questions and then we got her an appointment to teach her again! I am so thankful that god answers our prayers. i know that he is so aware of me and each one of us. he knows how we feel, he knows what we need, and he knows the direction of our lives! He is literally in every detail of our lives! I am so grateful for the opportunity to be here on my mission. I have already learned so much and I am excited to continue to learn more! I can not believe how close I am to half way! Time really does fly! I am thankful that I have the time that i do have, i am grateful for the opportunity to be diligent and to testify of Jesus Christ and his love every day! I do not know where i would be without our Savior, that is why it is so amazing to me to be able to share that testimony with others! I hope you all have a great week and that you remember how much I love you and appreciate you! LA OBRA MISIONAL ES MARVILLOSA! ❤💞💜💙💚

AND Happy Easter to everyone! Everyone go watch the Prince of Peace video! IT IS SO GOOD! Remember that Christ lives and loves us!🐇🌻🌸

Week 33

Hola Familia!
TUVIMOS CONFERNCIA GENERAL!!!! Estoy agradecida por el profeta, y por la oppurtunidad para tener revelacion y el profeta y los apostoles en la tierra hoy! It was soo great to watch general conference. Every time that I hear the prophet speak my testimony grows. I loved his simple testimony of the book of Mormon! I know that we really do need to start at the basics. Ever since i have made a goal to follow my brothers example and read 8 pages a day, i have so much more jo0y and happiness in my life! I know that the Book of Mormon is true! It brings me so much happiness to read it and learn more about my savior each day! This week was amazing! I absolutely love Vail already! The members here are soo sweet! There is this family in the ward that are all sisters, The Reyes Family, and they are absolutely amazing and so loving! They greet us every time we see them with Hola Hermosas! And they give us a big hug and a kiss on the cheek! I am so grateful for them they are soo sweet and they LOVE missionaries, and we love them! They are such great ward missionaries! This week the greatest miracle that happened was when Blanca and her sweet family came to conference! It is so amazing to see General Conference with someone who has never seen it before. Blanca said that she loved what they talked about and she just felt different while she was watching. And they got soo excited to see the prophet! It really strengthens my testimony every time I see the change in the people around me that have the opportunity to hear the gospel! I truly do know that this church is true! it is just right and it is amazing! Everyone i talk to that comes to our church says that it is so much different than any other church! You can feel it when people share their testimonies, you can feel it when we sing the hymns, you can feel it when someone is baptized and you can feel it when we serve those around us.

Another amazing part of this week was the love that you see in this ward! We got the opportunity to go to a relief society dinner to celebrate and Blanca came! I love how much they just took her in and made her feel like she was important and needed and loved. We also went to dinner at Blancas for Penny's birthday she is soo sweet and is turning 5!

anOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITE PARTS of this amazing week was Zone conference! tHIS ZONE CONFERENCE WAS AMAZING! THEY WENT OVER eLDER HOLLANDS talk again which I loved!!! Because it was soo goood! Then they talked about our purpose and how we have to "make his paths straight" they said that that means that we have to help our investigator's get on the straight path leading to eternal life and help them progress down this path. Then they said that their purpose as mission presidents is the same, to get us down this path to eternal life! They said that they would be successful when they see us married in the temple, when they see us with Church callings, and when they see us at our grandkids farewell! I am so thankful for the amazing Mission presidents I have! I LOVE MY MISSION EVERY DAY! There honestly is no better way to have a relationship with your savior! there is no better way to learn to trust him, and to learn who he is. There is no better way to learn to be more like him, and promise him that you will continue to do so forever! I am thankful for this mission every day! I wish that time could slow down. i love you all and I am so thankful for your amazing examples! If you didn't get a chance to watch Conference WATCH IT!!!! All of the talks were amazing! I really loved Elder Hollands. I am thankful for this mission teaching me how to sing the songs i can not sing. I know the savior helps us in our choir! He is the conductor! We just need to follow him. Have a great week! I love you all more than you know!
