Week 37

Hola!!!!!! how IS EVERYONE? I hope that you all had a great week! My week was fabulous as always! This week we started out the week on Monday and Tuesday, by saying Goodbye to Sister Gutierrez! We woke up at 430 Tuesday morning and we said goodbye. It was really weird at first without her here in Vail! Hahaha, we just felt like she was on an exchange at first! Some funny things that happened this week were all just mostly me accidentally being dumb! hAHAHAH i have figured out that I cant even tell a normal joke anymore, all of my jokes are missionary related! Like on Friday we were knocking on some doors to try and find some new investigators and this girl opened up and her name was Eve and she wasn't interested so we went on to the next door.. and he said his name was ADAM!!! So of course i couldn't help myself hahah, i said to him "Oh that's weird we were just barely teaching Eve next door!" HE DIDN'T EVEN SMILE hahah! I thought I was pretty funny and so did my companion though hahahh! But for some reason this week I just cant really function without saying a really cheesy Mormon joke. 

    We had a lot of great miracles that happened this week too! We were knocking doors at this apartment complex and we weren't really having success, and i saw this guy opening up his door and So i said hi and he ducked back into his apartment and closed the door. So my first thought was that this guy isn't interested and that we should just go. But then i remembered what Elder Holland told us when he came, when he said that we can not let one person pass by, or we are judging and saying that they aren't ready for the gospel. So we went over and knocked on his door. And this sweet little blande girl named Paige answered, and we taught her a little bit of the Restoration, and got a return appointment. Then the miracle happened! That is my favorite thing about a mission is that when you show Heavenly Father your diligence he gives you miracles! So Paige shows up to this appointment with her own Book of Mormon, and said that she grew up with a Mormon family that gave it to her! And she said that she always loved the spirit that family had and the love that they had for each other. She asked me about my family and I told her about our "no empty chairs" and she said that she wanted to learn more about that! She is amazing and already has a testimony and we are so excited to teach her! 

     We also saw a miracle this week with our investigators Brenda, Riccardo, and Diego! We found them knocking on doors last week and invited them to church! And we were so excited when we saw them walking in! And then one of our members Mama Marta found out that they were related and they were 2nd cousins! And Marta is one of the Reyes sisters so our investigator Brenda has like 5 family members in the church already! And 2nd cousins might not seem like a big deal, but in the Latino culture that makes you really close family. So Brenda calls all of the Reyes sisters her aunts! I know that it is not a coincidence that we found her family! I am seeing so many blessings here in Vail! And i know that it is because of Obedience and Sacrifice! 

      The only other interesting thing that happened this week is that I had to translate sacrament meeting this week! And that was tricky! Spanish to English is okay but then trying to do English to Spanish is rough! We also got news that President and Sister Gifford are coming to Vail on Tuesday and they want to take me and my companion out to dinner so that should be fun! 

     Well i will leave you all with this quote that i liked that President quoted!  quote by Elder Bednar, “I believe many, if not all of the most satisfying and memorable accomplishments in our homes, in the Church, in our jobs, and professions, and in our communities will be the product of the important spiritual pattern of small and simple things. We should find great comfort in the fact that ordinary people who faithfully, diligently, and consistently do simple things that are right before God will bring forth extraordinary results.”
