Week 42 pics

Week 42

Well this week was just amazing! I love week where the lord blesses us and gives us miracles! I know that this is his work and that he is there every step of the way to help us and to prepare people to receive this message. First off we got news about transfers and I am staying in VAIL!! But sadly my amazing companion Hermana Garcia is going to Denver. my new Companion is going to be Hermana Haycock. I don't know her that well she is new to the mission, she has 12 weeks in the field! I am so beyond excited to be staying in Vail i absolutely love the people here with all my heart!
Well, this week we had a huge miracle happen. We were visiting with Gael this week, and he said that he had been praying about whether or not he needed to be baptized, and he got the answer that he did! And he still didn't know when, so he asked his mom Blanca and she said "you should never wait to follow Jesus Christ." So we put him on date for this last Saturday, and he got baptized! I think it was one of my most favorite moments on my mission! He said after his baptism that he never wanted to come out of the water. He said you know that feeling when you are in your bed in the morning and you have to get up and get ready for school but you don't want to because your bed is so comfy? He said that is how i felt when i was under the water. i felt so peaceful! He is the cutest little kid and i am so happy for him. His mom was crying during the ceremony and it was so cute!

Also this week we had some other little things happen but those are the 2 main things. We had our last District meeting all together with this district and we had an amazing training on bearing sincere testimony. And I also learned an awesome Spanish tongue twister, it goes.......

Pepe Pecas picca papas con un pico, con un pico picca papas pepe pecas.

So i guess you could say i am fluent in Spanish now hhaahah! And today for our Pday we got all packed up and cleaned the house and then we played volleyball with Bishops family and Josue and Carolina and Gael's Family it was amazing! I am just mainly so excited to stay in this area with our amazing members and the great investigators that we have! The people here are so humble and so willing to learn! I love this mission and the work that we get to do every day to bring others eternal happiness and salvation! I am thankful for the opportunity to focus only on others and the lord for a year and a half. I love you all and I hope you know how much the our Savior loves you too!

Have a great week! Les Quiero!

Week 41

Hola hermosos! Como estan? Este semana fue bien marvilloso! Hicimos mucho de la obra misional y vimos muchos milagros!
I hope that you all had a fabulous week, and that you enjoyed the last week of school and Memorial weekend! This week was a great week on the mission. I learned so much like i do every week on my mission. i think it is impossible to serve a mission and not learn something new everyday. Whether it is something about yourself or those you serve, or more about the gospel and the scriptures. This week we saw so many tender mercies and miracles it was great! This week i got to go on an exchange with Sister Nicoleta, she is a sweet girl from the Philippines. And she reminded me so much of our investigator Mitzi from Steamboat, which made me really happy! And we saw a miracle that night. We had these investigators that we were working with and they were coming to church and everything and then they kind of fell off of the face of the earth! And it was a miracle because on our exchange we saw them taking a walk with their little girl! It was great because we got a return appointment, and we are now teaching them again! I love how that works and how the lord puts people in your path for a reason. Then at District meeting we talked a lot about Member missionary work which reminded me of a scripture i read in Personal study this week. In Alma 24:14 it says..........14 And the great God has had mercy on us, and made these things known unto us that we might not perish; yea, and he has made these things known unto us beforehand, because he loveth our souls as well as he loveth our children; therefore, in his mercy he doth visit us by his angels, that the plan of salvation might be made known unto us as well as unto future generations.

I Love this scripture because I do know that the members of this church are truly the angels that declare the Plan of Salvation. And every week I learn something new that I can do to become better. This week i really realized that we needed to utilize the angels that we have here in the Vail Ward! I love how when we use the members the missionary work becomes so much easier. Because i know that the members have a huge effect on people and can help our investigators feel loved and needed and help them through the hard change of converting in their lives! It was great to work with the members this week at our Family home evening Activity at the church! Everyone came and we did a lesson on Eternal Families and then we did a game and a video! And our investigators Brenda and Riccardo, that are related to half of the ward came! Everyone was so sweet and they really got involved in the lesson and said that they loved it! An amazing miracle that we had this week happened through a fast! I have a sincere testimony of fasting, and it grows each time i see a miracle come out of it! I am literally on my mission because of my brothers fast for me to have a desire to come! This week we were fasting for our investigator Rebecca! She is a sweet old lady from Lima Peru (Camille's mission). And every single time after we see her she says, "Pray for me that I will be able to get an answer and be baptized!" Her baptism is July 1st and we are really excited for her! the BIGGEST thing with Rebecca is that she works on Sundays so it has been hard for her to come to church. So this week we fasted specifically that she could get Sunday off and come to church! And guess who walked into the chapel on Sunday? REBECCA!!! We were soo happy to see her and she knew that our fast was truly a miracle! She is truly so ready to receive the gospel! We are so excited about the work in this area, heavenly Father is truly blessing us with the elect in our area! We also had Gael come to church this week for the 3rd time! He is such an amazing kid, I have never met someone so young who cares so much about the gospel! He has started working more on his "Mormon Wall" in his room. He started keeping all of the pamphlets and hanging up all sorts of pictures! I will have to take a picture of it for everyone to see next week, it is soo cute!

Well that is about all with me this week, This is the last week of the transfer so that should be interesting to find out the news! I am so excited about this work! Th people we are teaching are so meek and humble and ready to change their lives to be closer to God! It is an amazing thing to see and it makes me so beyond happy! I love you all and I hope that you remember that you are ANGELS! I truly do invite you this week to do something to be a missionary or to help the missionaries! Go out to a lesson with them, feed them for dinner, or reach out to a friend and share the Gospel! Just remember you all are truly angels who declare the plan of Salvation! So start declaring it to everyone, i can promise you that everyone needs this message of JOY! LES QUIERO!!!! Have an amazing week! πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’š❤

Week 40

   Hola Hermosos!!!!! Como Estan!!!
This week has been amazing! I honestly do not think i could be any happier! this WEEK HAS BEEN A WEEK OF HARD WORK AND MIRACLES! I truly have seen this week that Heavenly Father wants to help us in every detail of the work! he loves us so much! He has given us so many tender mercies this week, and he is truly helping our investigators!

So, i guess i will start this weeks email by telling you some fun stuff that we did! For P day today we got to go drive around and explore our area a little bit more! We went to red cliffs and took some pictures of the beautiful rocky mountains, and this fun bridge, and this abandoned mine town! I also got a beautiful gift from a member Mama Juanita, she gave me some vail bear earrings and a necklace! i love the members here they are truly amazing!

okay now for the good stuff, THE MIRACLES! This week was crazy, we found some really elect and prepared people and we saw a lot of progress with our investigators! It was my favorite part of the week and my biggest miracle, seeing Blanca Gael and Penny at Sacrament sitting together as a family. We have been inviting them to church for so many weeks now, and they kept on missing Sacrament. My favorite thing about when an investigator comes to Sacrament is that all of the talks and all of the lessons are tailored to them. It was amazing to see, because i know that God truly does have his timing and he can work miracles to touch the hearts of the people. They are an amazing family and I am excited to see them as a family together with no empty chairs in the temple! We also have been teaching Paige! I love her so much, and I really do feel like she is a big reason of why i am here, i know that we are supposed to teach her. She is amazing, she started to read the book of Mormon and she is in Jacob! She also came to church yesterday and brought her Book Of Mormon and a notebook and she was taking down notes the entire time! This week at church was the most successful week at church in my whole mission! It was amazing to see so many amazing people there! And The Webb's (The bishops family) Saw Paige and invited her over to their house for dinner! I love the members here and their faith and diligence and desire to be missionaries! Paige loved the dinner and we are really excited for her!

Another miracle was that at church this sweet little grandma came up to us with these two little kids, And she said that they were her Grandkids and that her son lives in Red Cliffs and that the little girl wants to take the lessons and see if she wants to get baptized. It was absolutely crazy because we just barely had the prompting that we needed to go to Red Cliffs and a member gave us her family as a referral! And we just barely had met the dad and then they came to church! It was amazing to see, i do know that when we listen to the spirit that he will guide us and show us Gods plan! I just feel so blessed to be a missionary! The more miracles I see and the more of the spirit I feel, the more I want to do this for the rest of my life! I love missionary work, I love helping people! I love seeing people change and come closer to their savior! I can not even picture anything else in the world that I could be doing that would give me this much JOY!!! I am so glad that we have the savior in our lives and that we have this wonderful gospel to share! I love you all so much! I hope you know how amazing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is, don't ever take it for granted! Live every day giving your all to him, and I know from personal experience that he will give you so much more than you can imagine back!

Les Amo mas que ustedes pueden imaginar! Tengan una buena semana!

Con Amor, Hermana Tams

Week 39 pics

Week 39

It was so amazing to see all of your beautiful faces yesterday!!! i love you all so much and I am so thankful to have such an amazing family! Well....... here we are at the dreaded half way mark! It really is a bitter sweet moment! I am so proud to look back on my mission and see all that I have done in these 9 months and how much i have changed. But I really do feel like time is flying by, i love being a missionary, i have loved every minute of being a missionary and It is sad that i am half way done! I am very excited to start this next half of my mission with all that I have. I know that I am showing my Savior how much I love him every day on my mission. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. I am so thankful for all that he has taught me and continues to teach me! I know that each and every day i am getting to know him more and learning to follow his example. This week was really great! And really funny!
   i LEARNED this week that i still need to work on my patience hahah! So we went to Vail, because we heard from this bus driver that we were talking to, that at 5 o clock all of the Hispanics that work in Vail get off of work and go to the bus transit center to go back home. So we headed to Vail to be there at 5 so that we could share the gospel with everyone. And we parked our car and we were waiting at this bus stop that was going to take us to the transit center! And i looked at the times and saw that our bus would come in 5 minutes, so we were waiting and finally this bus comes around the corner but it drives through and doesn't pick us up. So I was like great we missed our bus now what? And I saw these Hispanic guys go up these stairs after work. And so i yell to my companion come on lets follow them and teach them. And so we run up like 4 flights of stairs and we get to the top and they are taking off in their cars hahah! So then we look back down at the bus stop and I see the bus coming so we ran down these 4 flights of stairs but didn't catch our bus hhahaha. Its safe to say my companion was a little bit done after that! OOPS!!! I did learn a valuable lesson though! hahah, And we got a great exercise!(;

This week we also saw a lot of success with investigators coming to church. We had a great training in District meeting about how we can help our investigators come to church, and how we need to promise them specific blessings. I love that as a missionary if we promise blessings the lord will fulfill that promise and help the people in their lives. We had Edgar come to church this week. It was amazing because his aunt and cousins are all Less Active members. And they all came to church this week and stayed for all 3 hours. It is my favorite thing to look back at our investigators or less actives at church and see them all sitting together as a family. There is something really special about being with your family every Sunday sitting on the benches together! I am not going to lie I got a little emotional this Sunday at church because it made me soo happy to know that I am helping other families to be united like ours. And the talks about mothers made me really happy! I can not even explain how grateful i am for my mama! She is such an example of someone who serves and loves and has Charity for everyone! Thank you for all that you do mama! I hope one day i can be a good mama like you!

Well that is the gist of what happened this week! I love you all and I am so grateful for your examples in my life! I am beyond HAPPY! I have never been so happy in all of my life! Love you all have a great week! ❤πŸ’žπŸ’šπŸ’œπŸ’™

Week 38

HOLA mi loca familia! This week was another great week, we found a lot of people, we taught the restored gospel, we helped people start to make covenants and promises with god. That is basically what we do all the time hahah! I was trying to talk to my companion before this to see what happened this week, and we both decided that literally nothing happened this week. A lot of things did happen but they are things that happen all of the time, so i am going to try and think really hard and come up with some stuff to tell you all! Well.... we got a new vacuum......hahaha okay just kidding, i will try harder than that. This week one of my favorite parts of the week was on Saturday, because we finally got a lesson with Blanca. Blanca has really been having a hard time, because she cant find a job and her teenager is really rebelling right now, and Satan truly is just working really hard with her. But we know that she knows that this church has helped her and she loves what we teach, and she loved the General Conference and the baptism she went too. She is amazing and we finally figured out that what she struggles with is The restoration. I am so thankful for the spirit that helps us to know how to help our investigators, because without the spirit i have no idea what i would do. i know that through diligence and through the spirit we can help her, to know for herself that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that the priesthood was restored! This week we also got to go to Red Cliffs.. Which was interesting. It is a part of our area that we cover but no one has been there in a long time! And we were really trying to find new people so we decided to try it. And it is such a funny little town, It has this abandoned mine town in front of it and then the town itself only has a post office and a store, they don't even have a gas station. im not going to lie it is kind of a creepy little town hhaha! But the lord saw our diligence from going all the way to the back woods, and he blessed us with two new investigators from Red cliffs. Also this week, we got to go out to dinner with my mission president and his wife! Which was amazing, it was so good to talk with them, they are so inspired and i am so thankful for all that they do! He also said that our mission is getting cut some missionaries which is crazy! We are one of the smallest missions on the western hemisphere, but one of the biggest missions in terms of how much land we cover! BUT we are definitely small and mighty! i just want to finish my letter with an amazing miracle that we saw, our bishop wanted us to see this young single adult broadcast from the presidency, but we knew that we couldn't watch it because it was proselyting time and there was work to be done. But we asked the District leader anyways so that when we told the bishop we asked, we were being honest. And He just sent back a message saying  "by spirit of prophesy you will find a family of 5 ready for the restored gospel at 7 o clock". So we decided to do our part and be diligent to do our part to fulfill this revelation. And sure enough a little after 7 we found a family of 5. Its amazing how revelation and diligence work. i am so thankful that the lord is always mindful of us and of our hard work! And when we promise him something he always, ALWAYS gives us an even greater promise in return. I know that I am promising him a lot of things on this mission., But what he is promising me in return is soo much better! i am soo excited to see you all on mothers day! I cant wait to talk with you and see your beautiful faces! I love you so much, and i am soo thankful for the examples that you are to me every single day! I love you more than you know, and more than you can imagine!
