Week 63
This week has been amazing!! AGAIN!! Every week gets better and better! I still cannot believe that I get to have this amazing experience and be a missionary!! I LOVE THIS CALLING, I love my purpose! Their is no greater purpose than opening up the doors to the kingdom of God for others! We have seen so many miracles this week! And it has been a busy week! We had exchanges this week with the sisters in Front range and Platt River and I was in my area with Sister Abbott, She came out with Sister Pelo (my last companion)! And she is adorable! SHe is an awesome missionary and she is a hard worker, it was great to exchange! i love exchanges because I always learn soo much!! Then this week we also had both of our Halloween Parties in both wards!! It was great!! We had over 20 non members there!! It was amazing to see the members doing missionary work and getting involved! We also had the opportunity to go to Jays baptism. She is the investigator of Sister Pelo and Sister Hooper, an d it was a powerful baptism. We had Eric nitzle there, and his family was really moved!! It is so cool to see how the gospel brings families together and makes them complete and whole! That is exactly what has happened with Eric!! It has been a long, slow conversion and he is finally to the point where he is just ready to change and be baptized!!
The biggest miracles came this Sunday!! We had a lot of our investigators at church and it was amazing!! I will tell you a little about the amazing people that we are teaching!!
Ryan: Ryan is a cute 18 year old, and is a referral that we got from the Duffys (members in the columbine ward) and she is amazing! And she has gone to church before with the Duffys and she says that it is just magical! her draw to the church, is that families can be together forever! And she came to church this Sunday!
Sharon Bergsma: I already told you a little about her but she has 2 kids who are members and her late husband was an inactive member. And she really just is so sensitive to the spirit! She has had a lot of tears as she has been touched at church! And she was there this Sunday as well!
Izzy Hanks: Izzy is a cute little 9 year old, and her mom is wanting to come back to church and she wants to be baptized, and I absolutely love her! She is so sweet and has a sincere desire to follow jesus Christ. And it was her and her moms first time back to church this Sunday!
Eric Nitzle: Eric is a non member and his wife and daughter are members. He has been taking discussions for 2 years and little by little he has gained a testimony! He is in Ether in the Book of Mormon, and he has come to church for 6 months and he has a calling in the ward! And our first lesson, we got to invite him to be baptized and he said yes! his date is for November 18th as well. And his family is so cute and is about to be complete!!
The Brumble family: The brumbles are awesome. The mom and the dad are less active endowed members. and they have 5 kids. They are less active because there only day off is Sunday and they use it to catch up on everything. And 3 of their kids are unbaptized. And this week at church the whole family came to sacrament! IT WAS THEIR FIRST TIME IN 2 YEARS!! It was amazing to see a family in the sacrament pew working towards an eternal family and working towards no empty chairs!
My favorite part of the work is seeing families become united and whole because of the Gospel! THE CHURCH IS TRUE!!! I know with all of my heart that it is all true. I am so grateful for these amazing people and I LOVE them!! Honestly I know that as missionaries our purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ. But in the process these amazing people have invited me to come unto Christ!! I have come closer by seeing them come closer! I am grateful that our Heavenly Father loves us and that he wants us to change! I know that, that is why we have to Atonement and that is why he sent his son! And I know that change can be hard and it wont happen overnight. But we need to slowly and steadily live the Gospel and he will change us!! I testify that he loves us and I testify that the Atonement is real!! I love all of you and I hope that you know that change is possible! When Elder Holland came he said "come as you are, but don't plan to stay as you are." HAVE A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Week 62
Hola mi familia y mis amigos!!!! This week was so busy!! It was awesome! We had our mission Tour, and then we had the missionary leadership Council meeting, and then we had Train the Trainers, and Stake Conference!! It has been a crazy and inspirational weeek!! One of the talks that hit me really hard was Sister Giffords at the Mission Tour. She said that "Zion is mentioned in the scriptures 1462 times, And Let Zion in her beauty rise (our mission song) isn't talking about a place but a state of being. One definition of Zion is the pure in heart. And she talked about how Faith and patience work together to help us to be pure in heart! She especially talked about the 3rd verse to our mission song, which says.....
3. That glorious rest will then commence
Which prophets did foretell,
When Saints will reign with Christ on earth,
And in his presence dwell
A thousand years, oh, glorious day!
Dear Lord, prepare my heart
To stand with thee on Zion’s mount
And nevermore to part.
I loved when she highlighted the line that says Dear Lord prepare my heart!! My prayer is that my mission truly will continue to jump start that process of preparing my heart!! I know that that preparation doesn't happen all at once, but it is step by step, and day by day, that the lord makes our hearts pure. I have seen so many miracles with our investigators and seeing their hearts change and become pure. And i know that I am Heavenly Fathers investigator, and i pray that I am truly changing and becoming who he wants me to be.
A good example of the lord preparing someones heart is our investigator Eric. He has taken the lessons with missionaries for 2 years, and it started little by little at the beginning he wouldn't even sit down for the lessons when the missionaries came. And now he has been oming to church for 6 months straight and he is in Helaman in the Book of mormon, and he even has a Calling! And this week on Tuesday we extended a baptisimal date and the spirit was so strong!! And he said yes, I know that that spirit was so strong because his heart had been prepared! And he is now going to be baptized and his cute family is going to be made complete!! IT WAS A SUPER EXCITING WEEK!! And then him and Our investigator Sharon came to Stake Conference!! Which was amazing, it was all about missionary work!! Also this week I hit my one month in the mission and that means I have 17 more months to go!! And my trainer hit 14 months!! She is getting OLD!!! Its crazy hahah!!! Well this week was great and we saw lots of miracles!!! I want to end with a scripture!!! Its.......
1 Chronicles 28:20 “Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou has finished all the work…”
I know that if we just open up our mouths and declare the gospel and DO IT!! That God will be with us until the work is done!! I love you all and I pray that you have an amazing week!! And I hope that you ponder your conversion, and that you make goals so that the lord can continue to prepare us all and make us pure in heart!!

Week 61
Hola Hermosos!! Como estan??
This week has been amazing!!! We have seen so many miracles! We started out this week by going to talk to Sharon Bergsma Monday night! She is SIster Runyons mom in the ward and she is amazing. It was me and Sister Pelos last day together, and we went over to invite her to take the missionary lessons. And she was just in tears saying that she has felt the spirit really strong these last few weeks at church and when we taught her the Plan of Salvation. And she just poured out her heart to us about her past, and it was so evident that God has been preparing her, her whole life to accept the gospel! She said yes to taking the discussions and we are seeing her this Thursday! Then Tuesday morning we went to transfer meeting and met my new companion. Her name is Sister McLing and she is from Idaho Falls. She is so awesome! She is 20 years old and wasn't planning on serving at first, but she got the answer that she needed to come! And I said goodbye to my blessed trainer Hermana Cardosa! I am going to miss her a lot, and i am so thankful for everything that she taught me! Then Our first day we got here we had an appointment with Isabella Hanks, she is in the Chatfield Ward and she is a cute little 9 year old who wants to be baptized. Her Mom is a member who is wanting to come back and reactivate herself. So my companions first day in the mission field she put her on Date!! We are super excited to work with her. We also met with our Ward mission leader in Chatfield and he has some amazing ideas. They are doing the desert initiative in our ward. Which is where the members of the ward simply invite a non member neighbor to their house for desert so that they make friends and so that friend can feel the spirit in their home. Then their are three invitations that they can do from there. The first is the "Star invitation" Which is where you invite that friend to desert or a BBQ or a casual event. The second is the "Moon invitation" Which is when you then invite them to Dinner with the missionaries or to a ward party or a service project. And the third is the "Sun invitation" which is when you invite them to church or to read the Book of Mormon or to take the lessons with the missionaries! I am so excited about the member missionary work that is happening in the Chatfield ward! It is amazing to see people, who have a sincere desire to share the gospel with their friends, because they love the gospel and they love their friends. I know that Missionary work can seem hard and scary at times, but i know that missionary work really is the greatest manifestation of LOVE!! I know that when we share the gospel we are sharing heavenly fathers love, and I know that Missionary Work brings a fullness of Joy! So I want to invite all of you to apply the desert initiative, and invite a nonmember or a less active or someone that needs love into your house for desert, and then EMAIL ME!! And tell me about the miracles!!! PLEASE!!!
Also this week we taught seminary!! And we talked about the power of the Book of Mormon! I finished the Book of Mormon for the 4th time this week, and I love it! I honestly cannot describe how much the book of Mormon has helped me come closer to my savior. It has helped me to understand who my Savior is and how I can have a relationship with him. I am so thankful for the opportunity to study the book of Mormon and to get inspiration from day to day. I know that the Book of Mormon can answer any question! This week we also went to 8 hours of church! Which was great hahah, we did decide though that we definitely need church snacks hahah! And at Church we met Eric Nitzle from the Chatfield ward. He is a nonmember and his wife is a member, and he has been going to church for the last 6 months, and he is awesome!! During Gospel Principles he basically just bore his testimony about his conversion to the gospel, and he told a member friend that the next time the missionaries extend a date he is going to say yes!! So we are going to see him this week and put him on date, so that his cute family can be a forever family! Which honestly I think it is the best job in the world to help families be eternal!! It has been an awesome week, and each week just keeps on getting better! I hope you all know how much I love you!!! And I hope you all take my challenge and INVITE someone to come unto Christ!! LES AMO!!
Love, Hermana Tamales! πππ❤π₯
Week 60
Well everyone, it has been quite the week!! I will start by explaining my title so that i don't sound crazy!! hahah, When I asked Sister pelo what my title should be she said Greenies come and Greenies go and Hermana Cardosa my trainer said that I had to add and Grandmas die!! The reason being because we got transfer news and we found out that Sister Pelo is going to be transferred to Coal mine and Ken Karyl. We were a little bummed because we wanted to stay together, but the blessing is that we will still see each other every week at district meeting and we will get to go on exchanges. And then we found out that I am going to get a new companion from the MTC (hence greenies come and greenies go). So it should be interesting. We also got news that Columbine is taking over the Chatfield ward, so Pray for me because I am pink washing again... hahah! And then My trainer is staying with us for the day until tomorrow because she is going back home and dying from the mission (hence grandmas die)... hahah!! It is pretty interesting having our posterity all together!! So transfer news was definitely unexpected but i am excited to learn more and to train again and get back to the basics!! IT IS SO GOOD FOR ME!!! Trust me I need the basics hahah!
Well besides transfer news this week was great but It was just a regular week of missionary work! We taught a great lesson with our investigator Jerry, and he finally read in the Book of Mormon and is starting to progress! So that was definitely a miracle, and it was fun because Sister Gifford came with us as a member present and taught with us! We also did some great service! We were doing service at this place called Willowbrook, and there were these two old ladies that got in a fight hahah! One stood up and the other one told her to sit down, and then this little old lady throws a pillow at the other one, and then she said "who do you think you are?" hahha! So that was quite eventful! We also had 2 investigators at church which was amazing! They are both named Sharon, and one is this sweet little catholic lady who we are working with! She has read the whole Book of Mormon and prayed and says that she knows that it is true! And the second was Sister Runyon a member in our wards mom! She walked out of the Gospel Principles class crying and Sister Runyon told us that it was because she had felt the spirit so strong! It is soo cool to see how Heavenly Father is truly preparing these people to prepare the gospel! I am so blessed to be working with them!!
Well that is all that really happened this week, sorry that it wasn't that eventful! But we do have the mission tour coming up, and I will tell you about my new companion next week! I love you all! And I hope you know how much I love my mission, and How much a mission changes you and helps you to change, and truly experience a fullness of joy! PLEASE IF YOU CAN STILL GO< Pray about it and go!!! I love you all!! And I hope that you have an amazing week!
❄⛄ALSO it is snowing today, and I LOVE IT!!!!

Week 59
I LOVE GENERAL CONFERENCE! I pray that you all had the opportunity to watch General Conference, It is absolutely amazing to me that we have A prophet and apostles on the earth today!! I hope we can truly take the advice of Elder Neil L. Anderson and that we can take the time to read the conference messages and study them. I know that it is so true that in that Conference we heard the voice of the Lord, and that there is a treasure chest of Heavenly discovery awaiting us from Conference!! I am so thankful that Conference speaks to each one of us differently! My favorite talk this conference was Elder Hollands amazing talk!! My favorite part is when he said, "Beating up on ourselves will not make us the person God wants us to be. We live in a fallen world. we are fallen people. Here in mortality perfection is Pending. The Gospel is for the perfecting of Saints. Our only hope in pure perfection is in receiving it as a gift from heaven, we wont earn it!" I know that it is soo hard in the Gospel to recognize that perfection is impossible. I have been a missionary for a year now, and I am still so far from perfect! IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE PERFECT! I am so thankful that we have the Atonement of Jesus Christ so that we can work each day to be perfected. I know that we will never be perfect people, but we shouldn't beat up on ourselves, we should use the Atonement and work to overcome the natural man.
I truly know that the prophet and his apostles speak for the Lord!! I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and I am so thankful for the challenge we have to read it everyday! This week I will finish the Book of Mormon for the 5th time on my mission! I cannot testify enough of the power of the Book of Mormon. I know it is the word of God, and I encourage you all to continue to take President Monsons challenge! Not many things happened this week, we had exchanges and Sister Hooper came to our area with me, she is a sweetheart and a hard worker! And we also did a spa night last night!!Also, This week was also a week full of miracles! Monday night we had the opportunity to teach the Runyon Family the plan of Salvation. And Sister Runyons mom Shannon was there! She is a nonmember who moved into the ward, and when Sister Runyon her daughter testified of the power of the Plan of Salvation and Shannon was in tears. Then the next day Sister Runyon texted us and said that her mom told her last night that when we were teaching her that she had a vision of me and Sister Pelo baptizing her. And then for the Sunday Morning session we watched Conference at the Runyons and Shannon watched it with us!!! I know that Heavenly Father puts us in a specific place for a specific reason! One of my favorite scriptures is Doctrine and Covenants 100:4-6
4 Therefore, I, the Lord, have suffered you to come unto this place; for thus it was expedient in me for the salvation of souls.
5 Therefore, verily I say unto you, lift up your voices unto this people; speak the thoughts that I shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be confounded before men; 6 For it shall be given you in the very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say.
I know that it was expedient in the lord that I am here in Columbine,, and I know that I am fulfilling my purpose in inviting others to come unto Christ. And it truly is a FULLNESS of Joy! I have never been happier, every time I testify and can share the unique message of the restoration to the world, my Joy truly grows more full! I LOVE THE GOSPEL!! I love the opportunity that I have to serve and to give this small amount of time to the lord! Les quiero!! I decided that I am going to try and switch Sister Pelo spots and have her be Hermana Tams and I am going to dye my hair dark and stay for a year and a half more, so see you then!!!
Love, Hermana Tams☔πΈ
