Week 67
Hola!!! Well I got some crazy transfer news this week!! I found out that I was leaving Columbine and Chatfield to come to the Denver 1st ward. It is an all Spanish speaking ward and our area is huge!!! My new companion is Hermana Farroñay Chavez. She is originally from Lima Peru, but she moved to California when she was 5 and then West Jordan, Utah when she was 12! She has 6 weeks in the mission, so I have the awesome opportunity to follow up train her, but really she is training me. She is a sweet heart!! It is crazy being in the city! There is every single store you can ever imagine!! But the traffic and driving in the city is terrifying and I am the designated driver hahaha!! So everyone needs to pray extra hard for me!! Well this week was great!! It was an amazing Thanksgiving!! We ate with the Jones Family, and their family is HUGE!! They had like 40 people, it definitely looked like our family parties at home. And then we ate desert with the Wheelers! I am truly so grateful for Thanksgiving, and for the amazing people I have met here, and All of you at home!!!
This week was also great as I said bye to everyone in Columbine and Chatfield!! We had dinner with the Nitzel family before I left and I got to say good bye to all of them!! i LOVE their sweet family and I am so excited for them and the next steps they get to take as a family! We also had our last lesson with Ryan and she said that she still felt prepared and she prayed about a baptismal date and chose December 23rd!! And We got to see the Brumbles and give them a baptismal date for January 13th! I love the sweet, amazing people there!! and most of all I will miss Sister McLing she is such a sweetheart and she always knows how to make me laugh! I am so glad that she gets to stay in the area and keep me updated!! hahah!
It has been amazing meeting the people in this area! My favorite people that I have had the opportunity to meet so far are the Gurrolas!! They are a sweet old couple from Juarez! And Antonio Gurrola recently experienced a tragedy he was at work and an accident happened and he fractured his spine, and is now in a wheel chair. He never used to be religious before his accident but He is truly humble and is searching for God! They both accepted a baptismal date and came to church!! I am super excited to be serving here!! I know it is going to be a huge change!! But it has been amazing so far!! I am grateful that Heavenly Father is mindful of where we need to be and who we need to be with!! I love you all and I hope that YOU ARE ENJOYING THE HOLIDAYS! MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE lIGHT THE wORLD INITIATIVE AND to reach out in love and do service this Christmas! Les Quiero!!

Week 66
HOLA HERMOSOS!!! I hope everyone had an amazing week! This week seems kind of surreal, I cant decide if it actually happened hahah! But it was a great week. Sister McLing gave her very first training in district meeting, hahah I was so proud that I took pictures. We also had two baptisms this weekend and it was amazing. It has been such a blessing to even have a small part in seeing Eric Nitzel and Izzy Hanks conversion. A member came up to us at church yesterday and said, that was such a spiritual experience, and that she was so jealous that we get to do that all the time. I really have to agree with her, i cannot believe that we have the amazing blessing of helping others along in their conversion. I have said it before and I will say it again, I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!
"The most wonderful sound I've ever heard is the sound of water running in the church as someone I'd come to love got dressed in white my eyes saw their first glimpse of Heaven's light." I one hundred percent have to agree with the Nashville tribute song. I love these amazing people and I am grateful that they have seen Heavens light. As I was at the baptisms Eric Nitzel said something that really stuck with me, He testified of how he has come to see that the gospel is all about love, peace, hope and families. He said that at the beginning of his experience 2 years ago he wasn't really expecting to gain anything from the lessons, and he wasn't ever really looking for anything. And then he talked about the blessings of what he has found. The gospel really is so simple and Eric's testimony helped me to realize that. sometimes I think that we make the gospel too complex and it does make it hard to apply. But I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ and his Atonement helps us and enables us too look up. It allows us to look past the world and to focus on the Celestial Kingdom. I know that is the real goal.
This week we also had the opportunity to watch the Face 2 face BROADCAST WITH Elder Oaks and Elder Ballard. And we invited our investigator Ryan to watch it, and she texted us after wards and said That she watched it and was struck with an intense feeling of readiness! She is so spiritually in tune and is soo sweet, you can tell that she has truly been striving to find her answer, and it has finally come. The Brumbles were also at church again, and it is just amazing seeing Heavenly Fathers hand in the mission. He truly is preparing people!
We also will receive transfer news tomorrow, which is crazy, time just doesn't seem to want to slow down! I will let you all know what will be happening, I honestly don't have any inclinations, EVER!! hahah and if I do I am always wrong, so we will just leave that up to the Lord!! I love you all and I hope that you can reach out and show your love to others during the holidays
FELIZ DIA DE TURKEY!!!🦃🦃

Week 65
Well this week was amazing and as you can tell from my caption, I am never leaving!! hahah!! I just absolutely love the people here. I swear each area that I leave I am so sad and I think I wont love my next area that much, but I have LOVED every single area it is CRAZY!! This week was a great week, not much happened though!! We had the Missionary Leadership Council in Vail and it was so fun to go back and to see all of the snow on the mountains. I love hearing trainings from President and Sister Gifford they are truly inspired. This week was great, we saw a lot of progress with our investigators. The Brumbles came to church again and they are really committed to the goal of getting there kids baptized and getting back to the temple!! We are so excited, we are going to give them a baptisimal date this week. Ryan Blackburn also went to a baptism this week and church, and she is reading the book of Mormon, she is so cute she even keeps a journal of questions and favorite scriptures. Also Izzy and Eric are both on track for their baptisms this weekend! It has been a great week to see them So excited for their baptisms. And it has been crazy to see how the adversary will hit and try to make it not happen. This week Eric got asked to work the day of his baptism on a Saturday for the first time in 7 years. But luckily he got out of it. I know and have a testimony that baptism is the gate that opens up the celestial kingdom and it is an amazing covenant. I know that it is so important, and that is why the adversary attacks so hard. It is a good thing that we are always stronger than him if we follow Jesus Christ. This week has been amazing, and i am sorry that I don't have much time to tell you more about it!! But I just hope you all know how much heavenly Father loves us and how happy he is when we follow him and his plan!! Our ward mission leader in Chatfield also unexpectedly lost his mom this week. And it was so amazing to go to the funeral and see how the gospel blesses families. It was sad but there was so much hope and happiness because of the Plan of Salvation! I am grateful that we can have no empty chairs!! I love you all and I love this gospel i know that it is true, and it is such a blessing to go out and declare it each and every day!! Have a great week and a Happy Thanksgiving!! 🦃🦃
Week 64
Hola MIS AMIGOS!!! Como estan??? I hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween!! We sure did over here!! We had an awesome Halloween themed Dinner with the Beals and then we came back home at 6 and read the Book of Mormon for 3 hours!! IT WAS A DREAM!!
This week we also got to go on exchanges again!! This time we went with the Ken Caryl and Coal mine sisters. So SIster Pelo (my last greenie) came here for the day and it was a blast!! BUT IT WAS SOO WIERD!! hahah We had Deja Vu the whole day! It just felt like we took a time machine back to the past! That was my first time going on exchanges with an old companion, and it was a blast!
I also got a really nasty cold this week, and I heard that my little sister Molly at home had a cold as well, so we were twins this week!! It was pretty fun! Hahah, it was pretty funny, the day that I got it I gave a training in District Meeting, and everyone in the district could not really hear my training. Also Sister McLing I found out is kind of a Momma bear!! She made sure I got medicine and lots of water, so I am sure you are glad to hear that mom!!
We also had the opportunity to have a Mini MTC in the Highlands ranch stake. It was super fun, a bunch of high school girls ages 16-18 came for a day to learn how to be a missionary. And we got to go out door knocking with them. It was pretty eventful, one of the girls I was with got bit by a dog and we got a book from some guy who was RLDS, and we got 3 return appointments. Hahah, overall it was a blast!! And the whole day i was reminded of my cute little sisters so that made me happy! I hope and pray that everyone who is still missionary age, is praying to know if they need to serve, it is the BEST decision you could ever make!! *COUGH COUGH*** (Grace Tams) hahah!!
We also taught amazing lessons this week and saw a lot of the amazing people here at church!! We saw the Brumbles again!!! I was so happy to see them sitting together!! ANd we saw Ryan and Izzy hanks and it was amazing!! I LOVE THESE PEOPLE and these wards!! It is honestly a great place to be!! I love going out every day and declaring the Gospel and the Restoration. We are soo blessed by our knowledge!! I know that the church is true and I know that God answers our prayers and loves us all individually! I wanted to share something that I read this week in the Bible Dictionary this week under conversion it says.... "To labor for the conversion of ones self and others is a noble task." I am so grateful for this opportunity I have to LABOR for the conversion of myself and these amazing people!! It has been the Noblest task!! I know that we are all missionaries and we have that divine blessing of sharing our knowledge with those that we love!! I also wanted to leave you all with this quote my dad sent me from the book "the power of everyday missionaries" and the invitation to do something to take part of this noble task that we all have!!! “I love my life as a missionary, keeping myself on the front lines. The image in my mind is that God, my general, stands at the door when I go out every morning; and, knowing what the war is like, day after day he gives me his most powerful weapon: his Spirit. For this I am grateful.”
I Love you all so much!! I hope that you have an amazing week!!
Con Amor Hermana Tams!!❤💜💛💙
