Week 18 pics

Week 18

Well this week was sooo interesting! hahahah It started out with my having my last days in Eagle with Sister Cardosa. It is hard saying goodbye to someone you spent three months with! We got so close during that short time! I learned so much from her and I am so thankful for that amazing first area! I know that I will take lessons i learned for that area and sister cardosa through my whole mission! We ended our transfer in eagle Making our next transfers planners with our faces on it hahahh! It is so cute, and we spent our P day saying goodbye to members and crying, and getting my byebye book signed. Then that night we had our last lesson in Eagle together where we taught Sergio. Sergio is awesome he has a baptismal date for January and has such a deep desire and curiosity to know more and get answers. We watched the rest DVD with him at a members home, and the members bore a powerful testimony of Joseph Smith! I know that truly the members are the true missionaries. When an investigator has that friendship and someone that they can rely on and ask questions to, and sit by at church, it is amazing!! i am thankful for the wonderful members all around the world that do so much and work so hard to help people be converted! Then on Monday we had transfers in Rifle! We got to have lunch and get FREE sonic! And then sister bricenos comp left to Denver and Sister black came with us to ride back to Eagle! Then we dropped them off and said goodbye and we drove for 2 hours to the middle of nowhere. I swear steamboat isn't even a real town. It is the cutest little ski town surrounded by mountains! I will send lots of pictures but it is breath taking and covered in snow! The perfect little Christmas town! Sister Briceno is awesome too she is so funny and sweet! She is so feisty and sassy too haahah! She definitely fights my fire with a fire of her own! We got to steamboat at like 5 so we shopped for groceries and went home and I unpacked in the adorable apartment here. Then we made our vision and goals for this transfer! I am getting excited to do the work here. It is kind of crazy to restart because you finally get the hang of it in your last area and then they kick you out hahah! But truly it will be great to learn so much and to teach and find those that are ready! Then on Wednesday We started with lots of service we got to help for the ward Christmas party and then I got to meet the bishop and ward mission leader. They are very excited about the work and it gets me even more excited, I already know the members here are going to be so helpful! Then Thursday we had district meeting! My district is very awesome! We have Craig elders and Craig sisters and Rangley elders, and then us. They are all super nice and so helpful. Our district leader Elder Affleck gave a training on how we can teach like Jesus Christ using parables, or examples. He did lots of object lessons and examples we can share to simplify our teaching it was super fun and I truly did learn a lot!  Then Friday is when it all went down!! Sister Briceno woke up with 6 big red dots on her skin. And we showed the Christensen's and found out that we have bed bugs hahah! So boringly enough we spend the rest of our week being exterminators and killing the little buggers. We used Poison a steamer, and washed everything we owned put it in a bag and threw it out in the blizzard. I hope that we killed the little buggers hahaha! I will keep you updated, we might still have holiday guests in our house for Christmas! But Its all good me and hermana briceno had fun doing laundry and killing them all and singing songs. And we watched the prophet of the restoration which made me bawl! EVERYONE NEEDS TO WATCH THIS! Bottom line is that this week was good but required a little more patience hahah! But I am getting excited for christmas and to see all of your sweet faces on Christmas!! I love you guys so much you are such an inspiracion to me. Please remember what Christmas is about. My dad emailed me and talked about him giving his talking on spending our time with him this Christmas! Be an example of Christ to everyone you meet, radiate his light, serve others, and I promise this holiday will be one to remember! I love you guys so much MERRY CHRISTMAS!

AND a huge shoutout to my sweet momma and Hermanita Bella! I hope you guys have amazing birthdays I love you guys so much and I am thankful for you every day!!!! ❤🎅💚💜💙

Week 17

Well this week the dream team has been separated! hahaha. We got transfer news and I am going to Steamboat with Hermana Briceno, and my mom (Hermana Cardosa) is staying here in eagle with Hermana Black. The cool thing is that i know hermana Briceno already, she is the first person that Hermana Cardosa trained before me. She is from Venezuela, and has been out for 6 weeks longer than me and she is learning english. So hopefully she can help me with my Spanish and I can help her with her English! She talks really fast though so wish me luck!!! Hahahah and also I am driving a huge truck in steamboat in the middle of the winter so please pray for me!! This week has been great though, I really am a little sad to go because I LOVE Eagle and i LOVE the people here, but I know that their are people in Steamboat that I need to meet and learn from. This week was amazing some key points that were my favorite is first with my last lesson with Monica! We were following up on her Book of Mormon reading and she was bearing her testimony on the book of Mormon that she knows that it is true. She was on the verge of tears and I was already crying of course, but I realized in that moment that I truly love that girl. I have never in my life felt such pure charity for another person. I could see the light of Christ in her eyes and I could see her changing and being happier!!! I just have never been so filled with joy. And then after she asked us, if we knew that we were supported of god. And she gave us these adorable homemade bookmarks that say that god blesses us each day! I love that girl and right then and there, I saw her in her temple whites, I know that she is going to make it in the temple! This week we also had our Mission Tour with Elder Grow from the 70. My favorite thing that he told us is that there are people that the lord is preparing in our areas. He said that we need to know who the lord has prepared for baptism, and prayerfully and diligently find them. It was amazing and I am so excited to go to my new area and truly find those who are ready! The rest of the week we did more lessons and I said goodbye to everyone! I love this ward they are absolutely adorable. Today I said goodbye to my second momma here, momma lunde!! And we were both in tears I absolutely love that sweet women. I am thankful for every experience I have had the good and the bad. I know that I have truly learned more in these first three months than I have my whole life. I am blessed to have had the trainer that i had that took me in and taught me, and laughed with me when times were good and bad. She truly is like a sister to me. But no worries she says as soon as she gets home she is going to go spend some time with the Tams Clan!! I am getting very excited for Christmas and too see all of your cute faces on skype!! I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH

FELIZ NAVIDAD Have an amazing week!🎅❤💙💜💚

Week 16 pics

Week 16

Well I just wrote my huge email and it all deleted!!! I am so sorry, I only have 10 minutes so i will just have to give you the highlights!!! This week was fun because we really got to focus the work around Christmas!!! We have gotten to use the new Light the World video on lds.org a lot!!! If you haven't seen it go and see it!!! I love that it really talks about how we can light the world just like Jesus did! So take the challenge and light the world 25 days 25 ways!!! I love being able to focus our teaching on the Savior because he truly is the only way we can return to god. Some other great things that happened is that we had a fun family home evening with our investigators and i made up a spiritual version of the Big booty game hahah! Now we just say Holy ghost hahah! We also had the opportunity to do lots of service for members with setting up Christmas! That is the funnest service ever! And at church we had an amazing Christmas lesson in Relief Society. They had musical numbers with the harp, and singers, and the piano! And my favorite thing that they said is are we trying to find the star that leads to the manger every day in our lives. I know this Christmas season we really need to find the star and stay centered around Jesus Christ. I am getting excited about Christmas! And a little nervous about transfers! But no worries i know that If i stay focused on the savior that I will be happy wherever I am! I love Eagle Valley, I love the members, I love my companion, I love the work! And I love you guys, really work this week to light the world, You all are so amazing and I know that you can make a difference every day!! Thank you for everything!
And A huge shoutout to Samuelito!! FELIZ CUMPLIANOS!!📣
Te amo Mucho Tengan un bueno semana! Y Illuma El Mundo!!!❤

Week 15 pics

Week 15

I hope that everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving this week! This week was probably the funnest week in my mission so far!! I love the holidays, and I love the snow! Okay lets see if I can explain everything that happened this week! On Monday for the rest of our P day we wanted to write letters by this Sylvan Lake in Eagle. And I ended up getting us lost so we wrote letters at a Dog park. Hahahahah! And then that night, we got to teach Danna again! She is awesome, she is such a sweet little girl and really has a desire to come closer to god and to learn. She has been praying every night, and it is my favorite thing to hear her prayers because they are so sincere and sweet! Then on Tuesday We tracted a lot and found some amazing mew people. This week I have really learned that the lord sends you where you need to be and to who you need to see. We taught this new family that we found and they are like a family of 7 and they are all really willing to learn, it is always exciting when you find awesome families. And we also taught Jorge who is amazing. Mom don't yell at me but I am going to tell the story of how we found him. We were walking at night to an investigators house and i saw a man walking alone with a hood on across the street. And I know that it is STRANGER DANGER! But I really got prompted that We needed to cross the street and talk to him. And so we did and he is amazing! We have now taught him like 3 times this week about the plan of Salvation. An he really told us that he is sad and that he needed to hear this message right now! So I promise i will never do something like that again, unless I AM SO PROMPTED! Hahahahah.....Then on Wednesday we had dinner with the LUNDEBURGS! I love them hahahah, they are seriously so nice and amazing members. They came up with this amazing idea to have a Christmas Party and Sing a long and make it specifically about missionary work. They are going to make invites for us to give to our investigators and they are going to have every member bring one non member! We are so lucky here in Eagle honestly. Everyone here really makes an effort to do missionary work, and they help us in anyway that they can! We are so excited for CHRISTMAS! And Sister Cardosa said that she had a revelation that we were both staying here for the holidays hahah! So lets hope she really is like Lehi! Then on THANKSGIVING, our day was amazing. We first went to district meeting and it was hardcore snowing. I was so happy!!!!! We finally got Winter Wonderland snow. And at district meeting we brought pumpkin pie and had amazing trainings. Then after we went home and we cooked Brother Whites dinner, it was so fun, and we were such a mess trying to make it!! We made mashed potatoes, and gravy, and stuffing, and heated up some premade chicken....(hahah there was no turkey) And we had pumpkin pie and apple pie! I will totally send you all of the pictures. Then that night we went over to Sister Molinars with Sister mendoza and all of there crazy family. It was so fun and the food was very good. The turkey even had a latina twist!!! I truly am thankful for the opportunity to eat with brother white and the molinars and mendozas. Thanksgiving was amazing and i truly am thankful for this mission experience. Then on Friday, we went out to Bair Ranch to help Grandma Bair set up Christmas, It was so fun and their ranch is huge and like a cabin. It reminds me of our cabin in Lava!!!! And sister Cardosa officially hit her 8 months. She is almost halfway done with her mission! ITS CRAZY!!! Then on Saturday we had an amazing lesson with Jorge again and with Danna an Leslie. And we had a miracle of free EKAHI! Ekahi is the best Hawaiian food ever and we got it for free!!! Then this whole day was filled with miracles, I got a Christmas tree from my mom, and we were so excited to decorate that we skipped lunch and decorated our apartment! Then that night we were helping veronica, this adorable little girl that looks like Lilo from Lilo and Stitch with Homework. Which really means she was helping us because i do not remember how to do any math. And Bishop Lyons texts me telling me that he is eating dinner with my parents. I was so happy to hear that my momma got to meet someone from Eagle. I know that  was a tender mercy from the lord! Then on Sunday we had amazing speakers in church about the Savior. I am so excited going into this Christmas Holiday and having the opportunity to share about his birth, his life, and his gospel. I am so thankful for this week and every week that I get to have in my mission! I am thankful for all of the miracles that I see every day and I am so excited for Christmas!
