Week 15
I hope that everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving this week! This week was probably the funnest week in my mission so far!! I love the holidays, and I love the snow! Okay lets see if I can explain everything that happened this week! On Monday for the rest of our P day we wanted to write letters by this Sylvan Lake in Eagle. And I ended up getting us lost so we wrote letters at a Dog park. Hahahahah! And then that night, we got to teach Danna again! She is awesome, she is such a sweet little girl and really has a desire to come closer to god and to learn. She has been praying every night, and it is my favorite thing to hear her prayers because they are so sincere and sweet! Then on Tuesday We tracted a lot and found some amazing mew people. This week I have really learned that the lord sends you where you need to be and to who you need to see. We taught this new family that we found and they are like a family of 7 and they are all really willing to learn, it is always exciting when you find awesome families. And we also taught Jorge who is amazing. Mom don't yell at me but I am going to tell the story of how we found him. We were walking at night to an investigators house and i saw a man walking alone with a hood on across the street. And I know that it is STRANGER DANGER! But I really got prompted that We needed to cross the street and talk to him. And so we did and he is amazing! We have now taught him like 3 times this week about the plan of Salvation. An he really told us that he is sad and that he needed to hear this message right now! So I promise i will never do something like that again, unless I AM SO PROMPTED! Hahahahah.....Then on Wednesday we had dinner with the LUNDEBURGS! I love them hahahah, they are seriously so nice and amazing members. They came up with this amazing idea to have a Christmas Party and Sing a long and make it specifically about missionary work. They are going to make invites for us to give to our investigators and they are going to have every member bring one non member! We are so lucky here in Eagle honestly. Everyone here really makes an effort to do missionary work, and they help us in anyway that they can! We are so excited for CHRISTMAS! And Sister Cardosa said that she had a revelation that we were both staying here for the holidays hahah! So lets hope she really is like Lehi! Then on THANKSGIVING, our day was amazing. We first went to district meeting and it was hardcore snowing. I was so happy!!!!! We finally got Winter Wonderland snow. And at district meeting we brought pumpkin pie and had amazing trainings. Then after we went home and we cooked Brother Whites dinner, it was so fun, and we were such a mess trying to make it!! We made mashed potatoes, and gravy, and stuffing, and heated up some premade chicken....(hahah there was no turkey) And we had pumpkin pie and apple pie! I will totally send you all of the pictures. Then that night we went over to Sister Molinars with Sister mendoza and all of there crazy family. It was so fun and the food was very good. The turkey even had a latina twist!!! I truly am thankful for the opportunity to eat with brother white and the molinars and mendozas. Thanksgiving was amazing and i truly am thankful for this mission experience. Then on Friday, we went out to Bair Ranch to help Grandma Bair set up Christmas, It was so fun and their ranch is huge and like a cabin. It reminds me of our cabin in Lava!!!! And sister Cardosa officially hit her 8 months. She is almost halfway done with her mission! ITS CRAZY!!! Then on Saturday we had an amazing lesson with Jorge again and with Danna an Leslie. And we had a miracle of free EKAHI! Ekahi is the best Hawaiian food ever and we got it for free!!! Then this whole day was filled with miracles, I got a Christmas tree from my mom, and we were so excited to decorate that we skipped lunch and decorated our apartment! Then that night we were helping veronica, this adorable little girl that looks like Lilo from Lilo and Stitch with Homework. Which really means she was helping us because i do not remember how to do any math. And Bishop Lyons texts me telling me that he is eating dinner with my parents. I was so happy to hear that my momma got to meet someone from Eagle. I know that was a tender mercy from the lord! Then on Sunday we had amazing speakers in church about the Savior. I am so excited going into this Christmas Holiday and having the opportunity to share about his birth, his life, and his gospel. I am so thankful for this week and every week that I get to have in my mission! I am thankful for all of the miracles that I see every day and I am so excited for Christmas!

Week 14
Well I have officially hit 3 months in my mission and I only have 3 more weeks of training! I am almost done being a greenie! This week was fabulous as always! This week was really fun and a good week to find new people. The only bad thing about this week is that it still hasn't snowed! Utah has more snow than Colorado right now! My companion says it is because she came to the mountains and the lord knew she couldn't handle the snow! So a summary of this week lets see... On Monday night we taught Leslie and Danna! They are so adorable we showed them the restoration DVD and Leslie was in tears after. She said that she felt the spirit so strong. It was a really great lesson and they truly are so excited to learn more, they are both in ALMA 2 in the kids book of Mormon! Then Tuesday was a great tracting day. We were on exchanges so I was with Sister Safesten and we just opened our mouths to every one we saw! There are amazing people here that are so open to listening and learning more about this gospel. Then that night we got to have dinner with Sister Henderson, and her food is amazing. She is such a sweet lady, she has a lung disease and cant breathe very good but she insists on making dinner for us once a week. She made us homemade Cinnamon rolls and they were AMAZING! I will try and get the recipe for you guys. Then we woke up on Wednesday morning and Hermana Safesten was just so sick! She was throwing up all morning and the poor girl was so dizzy. We called some members from the ward and they gave her a blessing so no worries, she felt better and we exchanged back. Then that night Leslie and danna came to a young women's activity. IT WAS SO FUN! I got to be a hair stylist again and curl all of their hairs and then they got in prom dresses and took hilarious pictures. Danna and Leslie loved it!!! They met so many new young women and really loved young womens. We are so excited that they are getting involved with the ward. Then on Thursday we had district meeting and I gave my first solo training! The training was on charity and I realized that is literally the key to missionary work. If we have charity and love for everyone that we serve and teach, everything else will come. If we have charity we will have the pure love of Christ and we will strive to do everything that we can to be obedient missionaries that have the spirit. I honestly learned more in my training than the district hahaha! Then on Friday and Saturday We just had more tracting this week was so good and we found awesome people that truly want to be closer to god. On Saturday we got to teach Philip White again and found out that he doesn't have any plans for thanksgiving. So we offered to have thanksgiving with him and cook it. I cant even cook mac and cheese right so everyone pray extra hard that I don't burn our house down! Hahaha Then on Sunday Monica came to church again! I love Monica she is so awesome!!! She is on 1 nephi chapter 24 and really loves the church and the book of Mormon! It has been a great week with great people and I am so thankful for all of my blessings! I hope you guys have an amazing thanksgiving remember that Heavenly father is always mindful of you and loves you. EAT A LOT and remember that I love you!Estoy agradecida por todo mi bendiciones y por la dia de gracias!!! 🦃🦃

Week 13
SO TRUMP is president!! SO I am pretty sure that sam is staying in mexico because I dont know if he can get over the wall! Wow This week has been so great, I decided that Eagle is the best place in the world! I really have been trying to work this week on Turning outwards and having the character of christ! I feel like I continually need to work on this because it is so hard hahaha! But I really do see a difference in my mission when I am actively trying to forget myself and just love other people! My heart is so full of love for these amazing people. I could not be more grateful for every single person I have met, because I learn something new from everyone! Okay so the start of my Week on Monday night we did the Simple Supper service. Which is just a service the church does once a month and makes dinner and serves it for the homeless. It was really cool and it is awesome because this ward is amazing the more i get to know them the more i know that. They serve everyone and anyone! Then afterwards we had an awesome lesson with Lorena, we talked about her baptism and told her about all the many blessings of baptism! It is crazy that we have such this wonderful covenant from God with all the promises that come with it! Then on Tuesday We had delicious dinner with the Hendersons! Which by the way I would like you to know that if these members get any kinder I am going to come home being 400 pounds. This week alone we have gotten oreo cake, fudge, pumpkin pie, cookies, muffins, and icecream! Hahahaha!!! Then afterwards that night we taught Laura who is absolutely an angel! She really loves the message and really knows that the atonement is personal. THEN AT THE END OF THE LESSON SHE INVITED US BACK FOR dinner!!! She is not even a member yet and she wants to feed us hahah! I really am convinced that Eagle Valley is where all of the Angels go to live! Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were awesome! I wish I could tell you more stuff without boring you to death! But it really is the same as always just preaching the good word! hahaha, I have noticed that my spanish is improving a little I still am definetley not fluent but I am getting better everyday! We are also blessed every day to be guided by the spirit to people that we didnt even know that we needed to see! I know that the lords help me every day and that we are guided to those that are struggling and need this message! Then Saturday is when this week got crazy! Hahaha we just got crazy busy for some reason. But we started out by going to a relief society service activity! They were making cute dresses out of pillow cases to send to africa!! They turned out so cute! Me and Hna. Cardosa only ironed because we both CAN NOT sew! Then afterwards we ended up teaching Monica! She is so awesome and she really is progressing I swear she is more dedicated than A relief society president hahah! She truly studies it out and then ponders it in her mind, and then asks god in faith if it is true. My favorite thing that she said is that we were asking her if she believed that Joseph Smith was a True prophet and she said " OF COURSE he is how else would we have the book of mormon" hahahah. That made my whole week! Then that night we had our dinner with laura, she is so sweet! She fed us really spicy taco things hahah! Whenever I eat with latinas here I always get called a Gringa! Then sunday we saw the biggest miracle of this week! We were at church and invited Lorena and we werent sure if she could come! Monica ended up coming too, and we were all waiting on Lorena because she works during church! And she said came and said that she had been praying for work off and that she got it and here she is!! We were all so happy and we know that the lord provides! Then that night I had my first lesson where someone tried to bible bash us hahah! I was so excited to get my first one I know thats bad but It just was interesting hahah! We got invited to teach these two Jehovahs Witnesses in our apartment and then we we showed up they pulled out there bible! Then we said thankyou for inviting us over and gave them a mormon.org card and left! Hahahah they were so weirded out that we didnt want to fight them! Anyways that is my week HAHAH! I loved every second of it and I am excited to continue to work with these amazing people in Eagle! I love you guys so much and I am thankful for your love too! Remember especially around thanksgiving to always show your thanks to god for everything you have! ANd thank your amazing families!
Te Amo mucho! Y estoy agradecida por esta area de Eagle! Siempre recorden que Te amo! Yo se que esta mision es donde yo necissito estar! Y yo se que mi salvador y su expiacion ayuda me cada dia!
LOVE SIEMPRE, Hermana Tams❤💞

Week 12
So we finished the last week of transfers and this week was filled with miracles, fun, and tender mercies. We got transfer news on Tuesday and I get to stay in eagle valley and be follow up trained by Sister Cardosa. We are so excited to be in this area again, I swear Eagle Valley has the best members and Investigators in the world. This week I really understood how important it is to help the members too, and to have their trust. i realized that missionaries aren't just there to convert new investigators, but to continually help the members. So this week was a great growing week with members and with our investigators. On Monday night after P-Day, we pigged out on candy and cookies for Halloween and then we stayed in and studied for an upcoming conference with Elder sorous. We were studying for like 5 hours and we got a little delirious and ended up laughing at everything that happened hahah! Then on Tuesday we taught Lorena again. She is really doing amazing, we taught her the plan of salvation and she really loved the resurrection. She really understood the plan and what she need to do. She has such a desire to return with god. Then that night we had dinner with Philip White, and we made a lot of progress with him. We decided to serve him because he lives alone and he cant cook much because he is blind. So we made some tacos for all of us and he was so thankful. HAhaha it was kind of funny because you should have seen me and Sister Cardosa trying to figure out how to cook. She is even worse than me, the only thing she knows how to make is juevos rancheros. (Which is eggs on a tortilla with ketchup or salsa hahaha) One morning I walked out and she was making it and singing her little heart out, that latina song that goes... AY AY AY AY CANTA E NO LLORES! It was so funny!! I about died laughing, They are actually pretty good though so I totally encourage that you try them! But the dinner with Philip White was very good and we had brownies for desert!!! Then on Wednesday WAS my FAVORITE day this week!!!!!! We started out by teaching Monica! She is honestly so READY! We taught her about faith, repentance, and baptism! She understood everything and she really said that she has gotten so many answers that this church is true. She talked about how her husband isn't really religious and that when she asks to go to church he normally complains and asks why, but when she said she was going to our church he said okay and told her that he would watch there one year old dilayney. And then afterwards she was with a friend and she told her that she had never seen Monica so happy, And Lastly she pointed out that when we showed up we weren't even looking for her we were looking for a less active member and she knows that god sent us to her. I know that god has blessed her with these amazing answers because of her faith and her prayers and her desire to know! Please keep praying for her and Lorena! Then that night we got invited to a Young Womens activity to get them excited about missionary work! It was my favorite thing, I felt like I was talking with my little sisters about missionary work. They are so excited to serve and they are amazing Young Women! They agreed to go out on lessons with us and to pray about thier missions. We showed them a talk by Hugh Brown called God id the Gardener! And this talk is AMAZING. It talks about how god knows who he want us to be and that if he let us go our own way we would never amount to anything! It reminded me of why i decided to go. Because honestly it was never in my plan but I know that god knew who he wanted me to be! Even if you aren't thinking about a mission please pray about it, because if you are meant to go god will change your mind hahah! But the Young womens was an awesome experience and it really made my heart so happy and made me think about my little hermanitas! Then on Thursday We had district meeting! The last one as a district because 2 elders are leaving and we are getting a new district leader this week! They gave awesome trainings on missionary work during Christmas. I am getting so excited for the holidays. Then this weekend on Friday Saturday and Sunday is when we really got closer with our members! We got to do lots of service with Sister Mayne! We weeded in her garden for 2 hours and I didn't complain once hahah! (My mom would say that is a miracle) Then afterwards we did 2 hours of service with Hermana Chacon who is a recent convert. She was cooking all sorts of crazy spicy Mexican food for her daughters birthday! And I had to cut onions and jalepenos and everything! I swear that is the most I have cried in my whole life! We also got the opportunity to have amazing lessons with members! They are so sweet and so faithful, they have such a desire for missionary work! I am so thankful to have a ward that is trying to get everyone involved in missionary work, even the Youth and Primary!! Then on Sunday we had Stake Conference again hahhaah! I don't think that Eagle Valley believes in normal church! But Monica and Dilayney came and I felt so much joy watching them meet everybody and feel so welcomed! One of the greatest miracles this week happened this day! Monica really wants to get baptized and has a date for the 20th but her boyfriend and her aren't married! So we decided to do a specific fast, and ask that her husbands heart will be softened and that he will marry her so that she can be baptized. The miracle part is that we asked Monica if she would like to join with us and she said YES! IT is such a miracle that she has such a desire to have answers that she would put so much work into it and have so much faith! Everyone please pray for Monica and her family! Well that is all that happened in this crazy week! I love you guys and I am truly blessed here in Eagle! Keep on praying and reading your scriptures, and watch the talk "God is the Gardener", and remember that he knows who he wants you to be!❤💜💙💞

Week 11
Hola Yall! I hope you are all having an amazing Halloween! Me and my companion are loving it! We had Cookies and candy for breakfast, and I am dressed up as Sam for Halloween! Hahahahah. This week was amazing, OTRO VEZ! I feel like my mission something that I have struggled with is accepting humbly. I have been trying to just accept the lords timing and his will, which can be hard when you know how great the gospel is and you just want everyone to be baptized hahah! But i know that because I have been trying to just trust in him he gave us a miracle this week. We have this investigator named Lorena who we have been teaching for a long time since I got here. (so not that long) But when we first met her she was going through a lot of trials in her life. She had a car accident and her son is in jail and she was just trying to come closer to god. At first she was so timid and a little unhappy, and it was hard because I just wanted to take all the knowledge of the gospel and the happiness it brings me and make her understand. But slowly as we have been teaching her and I have been trying to work on patience, she has completely changed. I know that the gospel blesses our lives more than we know, and slowly I have seen that change in Lorena! She is so HAPPY now! She tells us all the time that she is so happy because of her prayers and because she feels closer to god. She came to church this week for a tour and while at the tour we showed her the font and the picture of Jesus Christ's baptism, and explained how important it is that we follow his example. Then I did the baptismal invite again because I felt prompted too hahah! I'm not gonna lie I really was so nervous because she was the first person I had asked and she said no.... But this time she was so ready, she accepted a date, and we were saying stuff like we know it is soon but we know you are ready. And she said its not too soon I think I am ready too! I was so overjoyed, All I wanted to do was have a dance party right there! 😂 But that really would have taken away the spirit so i didn't do that. But she honestly is amazing! Please pray for her, she is so excited for this change in her life. And I am so glad that the lord touched her heart when it was his Will and not mine! She is so ready now. This week I have also realized how amazing and spiritual the church and sacrament are. When you have people there that have never been, I just got a whole new perspective. Lorena and Monica both came to church this week and Lorena brought her two adorable grandchildren Heidi and Bella. I was never so happy during Sacrament meeting, it was the primary program which was amazing. And bella went up and just joined them singing even though she didn't know any of the songs. And then I had to translate for Lorena which was scary but she was just so happy to be there and she loved hearing the kids testimonies and seeing her granddaughter sing. And when it was time for the sacrament she told us that she was overcome with the spirit. I am so thankful for this week and for the opportunity to be an instrument in the lords hands. I have felt such joy this week as I have seen my investigators feel the light of Christ and change! I want you guys to all know how amazing a mission is. Especially for my cute little sisters. A mission is the greatest thing you could do and an amazing gift. PLEASE GO!! Everyone that is thinking about it just stop thinking and do it!! Thank you so much for your prayers every day and a big shout out to my family for the Halloween candy!!! I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A SPOOKY DAY!👻💀🎃
