Week 22

Hola Mi familia y amigos! This week we had Zone conference!!!!! It was amazing to hear the trainings and get some inspiration! We had trainings from the assistants to the president, which was so funny to me because i just imagined Sam going around training others on how  to be missionaries!! They did a training on the power of the restoration. I thought it was amazing, it is so true that we can open our mouths about the restoration at every opportunity and it will touch everyone. They talked about how a lot of people are lost in this life and they don't know that we have a prophet and that we have a person that receives guidance from god. It is amazing to me how much power the restoration has! Then my trainer Hermana Cardosa and My Sister Training Leader Sister Herring gave a training on how to work with members. It was so great to see Hermana Cardosa, and she loved me and Sister Bricenos gifts. She said "I have patience I will wait until my birthday to open them, and then she sent pictures of her opening them hahah! Ella es muy chistosa! Afterwards, my favorite training was by President Gifford. He talked about how it wasn't a coincidence that Jesus chose fishers as his apostles. And then he said that in order to be his disciples we need to be fishers! We need to be humble, and have patience and we need to have the FAITH that we will be able to Find "fish" or find those that are ready to hear our message! And he told us the new standard of excellence in our mission which is.. “We have faith that the Lord is preparing people to receive us and the restored gospel. He will lead us to them or He will lead them to us. Therefore, we have faith that every companionship can baptize every month.”

I love that!!!! We really have been trying to apply that this week in our area! Something coming up that I am really excited for is on the 5th Sunday we are in charge of a Fireside. And we are going to do it on member missionary work! The members here are amazing and I am excited to work with them more! It says on in the fireside that we are using some statistics that are incredible!! It says..
If a missionary knocks on doors to try and find people on their own 1 in 1000 people they find will be baptized. (that is 1000 doors.)
If the members just let them use there name while they are finding people 8% of people get baptized 80 in 1000 people.
If a member lets the missionary teach one of their friends in their home 640 of 1000 people get baptized!!!

I think that is insane!!! I am so excited to do this fireside, so that we can help the members more and they can help us, and more importantly we can all help others to be apart of the gospel! We also were tracting yesterday and we tried to apply what the assistant and the president said in their training. We decided to pray with a lot of faith to know where to tract so that the lord could lead us, and we weren't just randomly finding a place. And as soon as someone would open the door we would introduce ourselves, get to know them and apply the restoration to their lives to help them. And guess what we found a new family to teach!!! AND THEY SPEAK SPANISH! We were so beyond excited afterwards, i do know that when we have faith and we are obedient and diligent the lord gives us miracles. I really am so thankful for this week and for Zone conference! Everything that they said is exactly what I needed to hear! And the interview with president gave me peace. I know that he is my mission President for a reason and I am thankful for the things he does every day for me and for all the other missionaries in this mission. I am excited for the upcoming things that our happening in our area, i know that i am supposed to be in Steamboat with Sister Briceno at this time! I pray everyday that I can make a difference here, and that I can be worthy each day for the spirit and the gift of tongues! This week has really been great me and my companion are closer than ever, i really do love her! She made us Venezuelan food this morning!!! MMMMMMMM IT WAS SO GOOD!!! I am so excited for everything going on at home with Sam almost being home, and with kadence and jacy going out!!! I love my mission everyday, and I hope and pray that it never ends hahahah!!! I am thankful for you guys, and I want to challenge you this week to INVITE!!! Invite one of your friends or neighbors to church, or mutual, or to dinner with the missionaries! When we all work together to be missionaries and help others make it to the temple, I know we see miracles! LOS QUIERO!!!! Have the best week ever, and remember to give your all in the service of God!
